IMG_3606IMG_3590IMG_3592IMG_3595IMG_3597IMG_3599IMG_3602IMG_3587I do not understand my obsession with moss colored tops. It’s out of control at the moment. It’s just like black or white, it goes with absolutely everything. Weird, but I think it’s such a classy winter color. The unique, almost suede-like, material has me feeling some sort of way. It’s so comfortable and it’s the perfect layering piece. I love pairing turtlenecks with absolutely everything lately, it allows me to keep some of my short sleeve tops for a little while longer. I’ve also had this weird obsession with red lipstick. I still have my trusty dark maroon lipstick in my purse at all times but lately I’ve been reaching for this deep red lip. I’m so festive aren’t I?

By the way, I have a good reason as to why I haven’t been blogging as much. I’ve been moving, traveling and working. Busy busy busy. I can’t wait until I’m finally settled into my new place because I have some fun things planned that may be coming soon. Stay tuned for that. Thanks for all your love and support. I’ve missed you all right back!

Merry Christmas ||2014||

IMG_3642IMG_3644IMG_3656IMG_3659IMG_3662IMG_3668IMG_3677IMG_3697IMG_3706Merry Christmas! It’s 1:30 am Christmas day. I’m currently munching on some biscochitos by the fire place. I hope Santa doesn’t mind that I’m eating all of his cookies and milk. He should know better to be honest. My stomach is full but so is my heart. I’m in my new pink pajamas. All the presents are wrapped and under the tree. The kiddos are sleeping. My mom and dad are snoring. It feels so good to be back home in New Mexico. I love this house on the corner. It shaped me into who I am. These walls are filled with memories that I wish I could re-live. I learned how to ride my bike on this street. I fell in love on this doorstep. I had endless amounts of sleepovers with my best childhood friends here. Wyatt and I had our first kiss down the street. Every Christmas that I can remember is in this house. There’s so much love I feel like the door could bust open any second now. I’ve only spent a year in the city but coming home is something totally different to me. I appreciate everything a little more. The smell of green chili, the funny sound that our microwave makes, the door knobs, home cooked meals, dad’s laugh, mom’s goofiness, my brothers hug….they all make this place home. Home may not be where my future is but home is what made me. More importantly, home is where I had my last and only memories with my late brother. I could not be more grateful for the memories that we shared here. Lots of giggles are held in this place. My family may not be whole but our home is. Lasting and loving memories were made here and that’s something that money can’t buy. So my friends, cherish these moments with your loved ones. Savor the good stuff. It’s not about the presents underneath the tree but the love that surrounds it. I love you all. Merry Christmas to each and every one of you. I hope your day is filled with laughter and joy

…and cute new clothes.

P.S. I am so very relieved that these photos ended up happening. I’ve been so busy packing, moving to a new apartment (blog post on that later) and working, that I barely have enough time to eat, let alone get all dolled up and take cute-sy pictures with my boyfriend. This was NOT effortless let me tell you. This post would nothing without my adorable skirt from Shabby Apple. It was made for this Christmas photo shoot. I felt like those little angels that you put on top of your tree. I didn’t feel festive this entire month until I put on this skirt. So in love. Thank you Shabby Apple for making my Christmas so fabulous.

Totally Tulle

IMG_3444 IMG_3457 IMG_3462 IMG_3486 IMG_3487If you’re in need of some quick and feminine holiday inspired outfits…I’ve got your back girl. I don’t think you could ever go wrong with a tulle skirt and a warm and cozy sweater. Let’s take things up a notch with a statement necklace (that I wear with every single outfit) and some fun bright heels. I love the femininity of this outfit. You can say that it was very “J.Crew” inspired. I’ve been shopping there a little too much lately. The guy that works there knows me on a first name basis. I have a feeling that this teal-ish stitched pullover is going to be my staple wardrobe piece this winter. I find myself reaching for it a lot because I think the color is stunning. I can wear it simple with just black leggings and combat boots or I go all out and pair it with a tulle skirt. Tulle seriously has my heart. I can never get enough of it. Someday, you watch, I will own every single color of tulle skirts.

Ladies, this holiday season, whatever you decide to wear…please do me a favor and don’t skip out on the lipstick. If there’s one time of year to be bold and try lipstick….it’s NOW!

XOXO,

Karissa

White on White

IMG_3414IMG_3404IMG_3393 IMG_3405 IMG_3408 IMG_3420You know it’s winter time when I bring out my one and only fur jacket. Out of everything that I have in my closet, no matter where it was purchased in the world, this jacket is by far my favorite clothing item that I own. If something ever happened to it, I would just die. It goes with every single outfit. It’s timeless and fierce. Period. I wore this little outfit on Friday night date night. White on white is always chic when it’s done right. I added some pops of color, as you should, with my necklace, lips and statement pocket. I bet you’re all so sick of me wearing these booties but I’m not sick of wearing them. They go with every fall outfit and are the comfiest shoes that I own. I adore them. Sorry NOT sorry. But what I am sick of…is my hair. I’m in need of a fresh haircut and color. My hair has totally been annoying me lately so pulling it back, out of my face, is the best option for me right now. Mom, (my hairdresser) where are you when I need you? I need your magic touch!  🙂

Warm & Cozy Outfit

IMG_3260IMG_3255 IMG_3270 IMG_3296 IMG_3297IMG_3275

Hello Friends.

For a smooth Monday all you need are these few simple items. Turtleneck. Jeans. Booties and a poncho. Back to basics is key to surviving the beginning of the week. It’s hard enough getting out of bed in the morning so don’t make it even harder on yourself when choosing your outfit. Every outfit has to have some sort of statement piece. The statement piece in this number is this lovely poncho. I know a lot of people shy away from the loose/baggy tops but I embrace it girlfriend. It’s always relaxing to be relaxed. I don’t have to worry about any not so flattering angles poking through my shirt after lunchtime because we all know it happens. Slim tight shirts are great but not for a Monday. Be free and wear a poncho. It kept me oh so warm and comfortable, not to mention the color is absolutely gorgeous.
