Stripes and boyfriend jeans are the perfect combination and this timeless outfit calls for a weekend in the city. Out and about exploring the museums, little shops, boutiques, and amusement parks. This would be the perfect 4th of July outfit but I couldn’t wait until then to wear it. Red, white and blue stripes will never go out of style and neither will showing your love for your country. I love keeping things casual once in awhile and giving my feet a little break from the heels. Converse, sneakers and flats never seem to let me down on those endless walking days. And neither does sipping on some black tea from Starbucks. MY FAVORITE! Yum. My paint splattered Pilcro boyfriend jeans seem to be my “go to” jeans nowadays. They provide me with comfort and style from day to night and I absolutely love them. I never used to be a fan of lighter wash jeans but for some reason, I’m kind of diggin’ them lately. I will honestly sport every shade of jeans as long as it comes in the ‘boyfriend’ style. Like seriously, I don’t understand why more people aren’t into this trend. It’s the best excuse to be comfortable while staying chic. Boyfriend jeans are the perfect “sweatpants” alternative. Embrace that!
Wyatt and I like to do some exploring on our days off and just inhale this pretty cool city while we’re here. We really like going to basketball and football games but our absolute favorite thing to do is watch some good ole baseball. That’s what me and him both grew up watching. He played since he was little and I watched both my brothers since I was little as well. It’s in our blood. We both cannot wait to go to our first Rockies game of the year.

You HAVE to love a 3 item look that isn’t a typical t-shirt and jeans outfit. 1)Top 2)Overalls 3)Statement shoes. Overalls are known for transforming a simple outfit into a comfortable chic one. Every girl needs a black pair. The possibilities are nearly endless. I love how we simply have to throw on a pair of overalls and automatically feel like we’re stepping out of the box but not too far out of the box either. It’s all about being fashionable AND approachable. I like to wear my overalls with simple pieces most of the time, just to enhance them and have more of the focus on my fab overalls. I choose to wear an outfit like this when going out on a casual lunch date with some friends. Most of mine and Wyatt’s friends aren’t into fashion as much as I am so I like to feel comfortable around them and their 3 item look but I never sacrifice who I am at the same time. I will never skip out on the lipstick or the heels. That’s just impossible. All of my friends are understanding of some of my outrageous outfits and some even praise me for dressing uniquely and I could not be more thankful for that. If the day comes that a friend doesn’t like the way I am…see ya later LOSER! Just kidding, but really. That would never happen anyways considering I don’t have very many friends AND the friends I do have are incredible so I’m good “overall.” HA! I crack myself up.
For a smooth Monday all you need are these few simple items. Turtleneck. Jeans. Booties and a poncho. Back to basics is key to surviving the beginning of the week. It’s hard enough getting out of bed in the morning so don’t make it even harder on yourself when choosing your outfit. Every outfit has to have some sort of statement piece. The statement piece in this number is this lovely poncho. I know a lot of people shy away from the loose/baggy tops but I embrace it girlfriend. It’s always relaxing to be relaxed. I don’t have to worry about any not so flattering angles poking through my shirt after lunchtime because we all know it happens. Slim tight shirts are great but not for a Monday. Be free and wear a poncho. It kept me oh so warm and comfortable, not to mention the color is absolutely gorgeous.
I’m not embarrassed to say that I’ve worn this top 3 days in a row. It’s flowy, comfy, roomy, and any other word that ends with “-ey” that you can think of to describe it. This light weight top is all I care about. While strolling around Anthropologie I noticed that I’ve been gravitating more towards the comfortable pieces. With the cold weather here and all, being cozy and comfortable is more important to me. I still have my glam days but I really cannot have too many casual tops. Throwing on a cute hat, ripped jeans and heeled booties is a must for me when it comes to being casual and staying chic. You feel me? I wore this little number out and about in my city… running errands and staying surprisingly warm. It was a nice day to wear something not so heavy for once. Also, I’ve fallen back in love with red lipstick. My holy grail color is a deep plum or mahogany type of lipstick but nowadays I’m loving the look of a simple eye with bold brows and bold deep red lips. I’m telling ya, this outfit would be mediocre without the lipstick. I also have to be honest here, I wore these Alturzarra booties for maybe two hours before I changed into my UGGS. I’m usually one who can handle heels for 8 straight hours but these babies hurt! They’re cute and all but not that cute. I’m a little bummed that they tore up my feet so much. Oh well, beauty is pain. Is that how the saying goes? I can’t remember.
If you’re curious, I’m watching “Jersey Girl”, a classic to me at 1 in the morning because I cannot sleep. I decided to type up a blog post because I truly have nothing else to do. Why did Jennifer Lopez have to die so soon? She’s too beautiful to die in any movie okay! If you’ve been following my blog for awhile you might know that J.LO is my top 3 favorite famous people. I think Kate Hudson is somewhere up there as well. Okay, I’m rambling. I think it’s time for some melatonin. Goodnight or good morning or whatever time it is when you’re read this.
