Pants on Repeat

Are my embroidered pants elephants? Turtles? Rhinos? We may never know. Regardless of what animal print they are, I adore them. They polish up every comfortable outfit oh so effortlessly. I throw these bad boys on every chance I get simply because I got them for a killer deal at Anthropologie.com. My obsession with unique pairs of pants are out of this world. I find the possibilities of pants endless while tops bore the heck out of me. Every single sweater, blouse, crop top, t-shirt looks the same to me nowadays. Pants expand my wardrobe far beyond words. Thank God to whoever invented pants because they changed my life…well technically, everyones lives but whatever. I have these pants on repeat and I’m totally okay with that. Another recent repeat offender is this cable knit sweater. I don’t know what in the world I did with my life before it. My boyfriend bought this chunky sweater for me for Christmas and it has been one of my favorite gifts from him so far. I have to stop the urge to wear it every single day. What’s so special about it you ask? IT GOES WITH EVERYTHING. It’s comfortable. It’s basic. It’s warm but cool. It’s the perfect sweater. I think everyone needs a cable knit sweater like this in their closets. Finding different ways to wear it will be a breeze. I like to layer to add dimension. I chose a gold tee to match the gold elephants? turtles? rhinos? whatever. You get the point!

The Thing About Fashion Bloggers…

Creating a title for this outfit post was nearly impossible. I feel like I incorporated so many of my personalities within one single outfit. It’s girly, comfortable, warm, chic, athletic, tomboy, minimal, artistic, and just…me. That’s the thing about fashion bloggers or just fashion lovers in general…we’re a little bit of everything. We don’t stay in one little tiny box. We step out of our comfort zone every single day. We love everything and anything. Fashion is all about being open to the possibilities. It’s about making a girly outfit more tomboy. It’s about throwing on some sneakers when you’re wearing a $1oo fleece sweater. It’s about taking your favorite boyfriend jeans and pairing them with your favorite lipstick. If you can’t tell already, I really enjoy outfits that have a little contradiction within them. Fashion lovers love taking risks. We’re always trying to find new ways to make an outfit more “us” and more unique. We’re innovators. Walking out the door with just a t-shirt and jeans is not a simple task. We’re always searching for our lipstick, our clutch, our heels and our magazine for the road. We’re constantly looking for new ways to reinvent ourselves and our wardrobe. I love fashion. I love who I am since it entered into my life.

Another great thing about fashion is that sometimes outfits bring out the best in you and they take you to some amazing places to meet some amazing people. I met two lovely fashion bloggers in this outfit and I could not be more grateful that they entered my life. Even if it was just a short Starbucks meet up, meeting Christine from MoxieFashionBlog.com and Alena from ModaPrints.com was one of the best little things to happen to me so far this year. It’s amazing to see bloggers uplifting bloggers. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION. We are just doing what we love and there’s no shame in supporting one another. It was a beautiful thing to experience with such beautiful ladies. Christine & Alena, so happy I met you. You guys are so much fun. Check out their blogs! All About The Skirt

There’s a lot going on here. Lot’s of warm neutral tones and little details here and there. This skirt has been fun but quite challenging to style. Challenging because it styles itself and it only looks cute with like colors. I enjoy putting my spin on things but this skirt does all the work for me. I don’t own anything like it in my closet and I think that’s what attracted me to it. The fact that it’s more flared and “poofy” people tend to shy away from it but I don’t mind the flared factor because it cinches at the waist. It’s super slimming despite the fact that it’s almost tutu-like. I wanted to keep it comfortable on the top and very put together on the bottom. If you’re going to wear a statement skirt like this, I think it’s smart to break things up a little bit. I would’ve chose black leggings to pair with this look but I think these polka dot tights are just too fun to pass up. You’ll be seeing this skirt again soon. I want to discover more and more ways to wear it.

Warm, Cozy and Glam Worthy

Hello there. I hope you’re having a lovely Sunday. It’s currently Saturday night and I’m obviously raising the roof. Not really, I’m sitting on the couch watching Saturday Night Live and eating cookie dough. This is my kind of Saturday night. Blogging in peace. The weather was shocking today. (Am I really talking about the weather? It must be time for bed.) It felt like a perfect summer day. Is it still January or what? I almost had to take off this cardigan, which would have been a major bummer because I just bought it and I’ve been so excited to wear it out. I have a feeling that this leopard print cardigan is going to be my “go to” cardigan. That kind of cardi that you throw over just about anything to keep you feeling cozy and warm. The material feels better than your blanket, I can promise you that. I could fall asleep in it and honestly… I’m really tempted to do that right now considering I’m nearly dozing off as I’m typing this. I think the subtle glitter threaded into the cardigan really glams up any outfit. It took this plain shift dress and transformed it into a worthy look. If you’re the type of girl that enjoys wearing all black, I strongly recommend that you think about purchasing this fun cardigan. Throwing this little guy over an all black outfit is the perfect duo. I decided to pair tall socks with this look because I’m one white girl. ha! My legs haven’t seen the sun in months. Sorry if I’m blinding you. I should have warned you from the beginning to grab your sunglasses. My white legs are out of control.

3 Outfits in One: Dinner to the Movies to the Couch

You’re a busy girl. You’ve got a lot of places to be. You have no time to run back home and change every single time you have somewhere to go. Here’s a quick and easy how to guide on wearing one outfit, three different ways.

Step One: Create a simple color scheme that will be easier for you to transition from outfit to outfit.

Step Two: Choose a lightweight flow-y dress; one that is easy to layer.

Step Three: Pick a layer-able sweater top that is easy to knot to add some dimension and color to your already awesome dress. If you’re going to the movies, don’t miss this step because movie theaters can get real chilly.

Step Four: (If it’s not a winter wonderland where you live, you can skip this step.) Add some sexy to your outfit and rock some leather/pleather/faux leather WHATEVER to your outfit and you are good to go!

Bonus: Bring your converse along for the ride. No one likes hurt footsies from those high heels.

I’ll walk you through my kind of Friday night. I typically have a nice dinner with my boyfriend, we take a trip to the movies, and then end the night with some good ole couch time on our laptops while watching Breaking Bad.

My Outfit: I went with a light moss colored sweater top, a minted blue and pink dotted baby doll dress and to add a bit of sexiness, I chose some leather leggings to top it all off. It’s a simple color selection but it will get the job done.
