When it comes to jeans, I struggle. I know we all have that in common when discovering the perfect pair of jeans. We’re all so different and unique in our own ways and we need a jean that not only fits our curves or lack of curves (in my case) but a pair of jeans that will allow our personality to shine through. A quality pair of jeans that remains comfortable, stylish and flattering. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? Yeesh. Shopping for pants has never been my favorite until I found Pilcro, an Anthropologie exclusive. Pilcro has the highest quality denim. Pilcro pieces are refined, sophisticated and affordable. Pilcro also offers Petite which I take full advantage of considering I have the body of a 12 year old boy. I could not be more thankful for the petite options that Anthropologie offers. My favorite jean at the moment is the relaxed/boyfriend fit. They add a little tomboy to every girly outfit which creates my favorite ensemble. The newest addition to my Pilcro collection are these “Carpenter” jeans. The paint splatter creates an artistic vibe which I love. I feel like I’m capable of creating something beautiful every single time I wear them.
Here’s your chance to win your very own Pilcro jeans. Anthropologie is having an Instagram giveaway RIGHT NOW! All you have to do is Instagram your favorite Pilcro brand pants – jeans, cords, trousers or chinos- and tag it with the hashtag #PrettyInPilcro and #Anthropologie. The winning snap will receive 3 new Pilcro pairs + $500 dollars worth of clothing to go to them, while 10 runner ups will each receive a Pilcro pair of their choosing! This contest ends January 30th so get to “gramming” my friends. Good luck!
I discover something new about my personal style every single day. I’ve realized that I absolutely love simplicity but only if the simple pieces are paired with something eye catching and bold. Every outfit I wear HAS to have something that can turns heads or else I don’t want to wear it. I think I nailed it with this light pink trench coat. I kept the outfit plain and comfortable but adding this colorful outerwear took it to the next level. My kind of level. My every day style is minimal with hints of bold and accents of color. My style is honestly eclectic but when I don’t have time to plan a fabulous outfit…I keep things very minimal and quite simple. That’s just easier for me some days. You may have also picked up on the fact that I don’t care to accessorize a whole lot. I’m the pickiest person of all time when it comes to wearing necklaces. I don’t really know what I like. It’s like they can’t make a necklace out there that’s perfect for me. I own maybe thirty necklaces and I only wear two or three. My kind of accessorizing is just some statement studded earrings. That’s about it. I own a thousand of those. These “Rocket” jeans give me some kind of confidence. I’ve never owned a pair of jeans that fit me so well. I think because they’re high waisted I feel like I can do more with them. You all know I love me some high waisted bottoms. Okay, I’m signing off for now my friends. See you in the next post. On a windy November day in Denver, Colorado I made a common fashion mistake. The Weather: 1 Me: 0 I wore a dress and heels on our first snowfall of the season. I told myself that I didn’t care what the weather was like, I was going to wear this outfit no matter what. I’ve had this little number in my head for weeks and I was so excited to finally wear this dress that’s been sitting in my closet for months. My boyfriend warned me but I didn’t listen. We snapped these pictures in under 60 seconds because I was absolutely freezing. (Can’t you tell by my expression? Ha.) The wind was like ice. I didn’t completely sacrifice my outfit though. I went home and put on some grey leggings and my trusty brown combat boots. I should have done that in the first place because that outfit was cute too. I would say that I’ve learned my lesson and I that I should pay more attention to the weather but I know how I am. I don’t like letting the weather win but I definitely need to be a little smart about making my outfit decisions. We all make these mistakes. It’s part of the journey. My biggest tip is to be weather conscious but still remain yourself. I wanted to wear this dress and I did. I’m proud of myself for not letting the weather choose my outfit for me.

Sometimes, when you’re in a rush or having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction, a scarf can easily become your new best friend. One of the easiest things for me to do is to base an entire outfit around a scarf I want to wear. This usually involves a plain tee, skinny jeans, heels and a simple jacket. It’s the easiest trick in the book. This scarf is on a whole ‘nother level. It can double as a blanket pretty much and I’m in love with it. I love pops of color mixed with camel-like colors. It’s one of my new favorite things. I wore this outfit to lunch with some friends and to run a few errands. This gigantic scarf didn’t bug me as much as I thought it would. It kept me warm and that’s all that matters. My “go to” fall/winter outfit is pretty much similar to this. All winter long I’ll be wearing these trust-y black skinny jeans, a warm top and some statement shoes. I’ll be rocking that look all winter long because when the weather gets colder, I really can’t bother with anything that doesn’t make me feel warm, cozy and comfortable.
My top reminds me of an artist taking it’s canvas by storm. It reminds me of a love affair between the paintbrush and the neon paint. I love the chaos in this blouse. It’s so beautiful. I’ve been trying harder to buy more color because neutrals never seem to let me down. I think it’s safe to say that I bought a top that’s more than just colorful. I definitely needed it in my closet. It will totally outshine most of the things that I own. Being colorful isn’t such a bad thing people. I would like to let you guys in on who has been my fashion inspiration lately. I recently caved in and bought Netflix. Big mistake. BIG MISTAKE. I haven’t left my bed in days because all I’ve been watching is “The Carrie Diaries.” It’s the prequel to “Sex and The City” and oh my gosh… I’m in love. I thought older Carrie Bradshaw was my idol but I think younger Carrie Bradshaw has my heart. Her style is just impeccable. It’s bright, innocent, put together, and totally 80’s chic. I never thought I would like 80’s fashion until I started watching this show. It’s not just the typical 80’s kind of fashion…IT’S SO MUCH MORE. I truly truly truly cannot get over it. The costume designer for the show needs to become my best friend, like pronto. I wish I was the younger Carrie Bradshaw. She works for a fashion magazine for crying out loud. I strive to be her. If you haven’t watched it, I suggest you should. Put on your favorite pair of hoop earrings, a tutu skirt, leg warmers and get started. You will be addicted in no time. Anyways, young Carrie Bradshaw kind of inspired this bright neon outfit. I hope I didn’t let her down.
