Rainbow Sunshine Flower Dust

IMG_8750IMG_8759IMG_8761IMG_8749IMG_8743IMG_8753IMG_8747IMG_8768I could not, for the life of me, come up with a title for this post so I decided to just go with something overly obnoxious. What’s the point in being subtle anymore. I want to catch my readers attention and I hope I achieved that. HA! Okay ladies, its officially that time of the year for summer shorts. I will admit, I’d much rather wear a dress over shorts but I found the comfiest salmon colored pair that go with literally everything. I just had to purchase them because of the tie-waisted detail. We all know I love a knot. I’m very tempted to buy them in olive and black as well. I already know they will be my summer “go to” shorts. This phrase is so overused but it’s so true: You can really dress them up AND dress them down. In today’s post I wanted to show you how easy it is to elevate a pair of casual shorts. Simply add a colorful, powerful top and statement heels. Bad-a-bing.

It feels so invigorating to be a splash of color amongst a world of black and white. As we were taking pictures, I took a look around me and noticed everyone wearing no color. Again, wear what you’re comfortable with but never be afraid to step out of that box. It’s feels amazing to embrace all the colors in the rainbow. I felt like a ray of sunshine in the center of downtown Denver.

Pretty In Pastel

IMG_8909 IMG_8927 IMG_8926 IMG_8925 IMG_8910

I was talking to someone the other day that only liked to wear fall colors. I then asked her what she thought of pastels and she just gave me a disgusted look and said, “Hideous.” Well, to each their own but I think she’s crazy! Although, fall colors are absolutely beautiful, they shouldn’t be worn every single day of the year. Pastels are the reason that I breathe. It may sound a little dramatic but these range of colors make the world a little more unique and bright. I love the fall because that’s where mustard yellow, taupes, and black appear but Spring is where everything comes back to life. Purple may not be my favorite color but in it’s pastel form it might as well be.

This slightly revealing romper screams summer fun. Doesn’t this cute little number make you want to just party and let loose for just one night? I know I need a little fun in my life and I will be bringing this little guy along when I do. My closet definitely needed something saucy. I may not be 100% confident in this romper but I never like to be TOO comfortable when it comes to my outfits. If something scares me a little, it might just be the thing I needed. Don’t worry mom, you won’t see me in deep v-necks every day but trust me, it’s totally okay to be daring once in awhile.

Where in the world would I wear this romper you ask? I can think of plenty.

1.Girls Night sipping on margaritas.

2.Date Night with a statement clutch and heels.

3.An Appearance (If you’re famous or something.)

4.Clubbin’ -if you’re into that kind of thing.

5. Or if you’re like me…Just wear this on your couch wishing that you had somewhere cool to go.

I hope this post inspires you to step out of your everyday clothing and throw on something daring. I mean, if I can do it…so can you.

With Love,

Button-Downs Don’t Have To Be So Boring

IMG_8780I mean, based on the pictures, can’t you tell how much fun I’m having in my little button down? Wearing button-downs don’t have to be so boring, ladies. In fact, they are the opposite but that’s all up to how you decide to wear it. I absolutely love to wear my button downs (or button up, however you want to say it) with a statement skirt or high waisted trousers. I don’t know what I would do without all of my different pairs of high waisted trousers because they have truly evolved my wardrobe into everything that it was meant to be. As a fashion lover, I can’t go a week without throwing on a pair into my daily wardrobe because they are just so versatile and there’s nothing better to spice up a button down. When I first purchased this blue, white and red striped beauty I was worried it was too “Fourth of July-ish” but that’s not the case at all! Also, there’s nothing wrong with representing our country when it’s not a national holiday…Just a regular Monday will do just fine too! When pairing a button down with anything high waisted, I always make sure that that my button-down can be comfortably tucked into my pants. The length of the top makes such a difference. Good thing this hankercheif style of top is so versatile. Tucked in or out, it WILL turn heads.

Anthropologie finally restocked this lovely top on their website. Check out the link down below to see how beautiful this top flows when it’s not tucked in. Take out your button-downs, because we all have them, and try to find new ways to love them and show them their full potential. Button-downs are meant for so much more than just the corporate world my friends! Have Fun! XOXO!

Butterfly Sleeves

IMG_8719IMG_8737IMG_8700IMG_8721IMG_8708IMG_8714Butterfly sleeves are the epitome of femininity and grace. This stand out detail transforms your dress from simple to statement. I love everything about this dress from the shade, shape, and tie-waist detailing.  I can’t imagine going on a day-date or luncheon without this beauty. I would’ve purchased this dress regardless of the color but this salmon shade is everything that I love. I’ve stepped out of my obsession with Indigo for only a moment and have bought nothing but salmon colored pieces. I think this color is slowly turning into my summer “go-to” shade. I know I will be able to rock this salmon shade now that I’m pale but also when I start getting some color in the upcoming summer months. The light weight material makes it a lot easier to wear on those extremely hot days. Seriously, you can see it for your yourself just how beautiful this dress is. I don’t need to say much else about it. I’ll let the affordable price and pictures do all the talking. Hurry and buy this dress before it sells out! (Link Below)

P.s. I got a size 2 which is technically a size 0 at H&M. I recommend sizing up because the material is not stretchy and there’s no zipper. The tie-waist will cinch everything in.

Oh No! I’m In A Shopping Rut!

IMG_8592 IMG_8578 IMG_8581 IMG_8588 IMG_8586 IMG_8594 IMG_8580This outfit is full of oldies but goodies. Even though some of the pieces in this look might not be available to purchase I still hope this post gives you some sort of inspiration. How to pair t-shirts with skirts. How to mix textures and prints. How to really step up your girly side. What I love about fashion blogs is that it’s not about buying every single item in their posts from head to toe. It’s really about taking their look, finding similar pieces in your own closet, and creating something completely new, something that’s totally unique and you. I see a lot of people get discouraged about reading fashion blogs and not being able to purchase their look, but I guarantee you already have similar pieces in your closet that you might have neglected.

I’ve been stuck in a shopping rut for the past month and half (I haven’t boughten ANYTHING.) All of my favorite stores from Anthropologie to Zara just don’t have anything out that I’m in love with. Online shopping and in-store shopping has never been so disappointing. I don’t like anything! So desperate times call for desperate measures. When I get in a rut like this, with no new fabulous clothing items to play with, I give a little extra attention to my oldies. This really gives me a chance to REINVENT my own wardrobe and try out new ways to style my favorites.

Style is NOT about buying every new little thing on the market. Don’t stress if you’re not crazy about the current trends or if your not financially ready to buy clothes. What you already own is ready to be taken out into the world in new and exciting ways! Get creative with the clothes you already have. Challenge yourself.

With love,
