I Love Me a Pink Trench Coat

IMG_2848 IMG_2851 IMG_2854 IMG_2868 IMG_2869 IMG_2879 IMG_2881 IMG_2882 I discover something new about my personal style every single day. I’ve realized that I absolutely love simplicity but only if the simple pieces are paired with something eye catching and bold. Every outfit I wear HAS to have something that can turns heads or else I don’t want to wear it. I think I nailed it with this light pink trench coat. I kept the outfit plain and comfortable but adding this colorful outerwear took it to the next level. My kind of level. My every day style is minimal with hints of bold and accents of color. My style is honestly eclectic but when I don’t have time to plan a fabulous outfit…I keep things very minimal and quite simple. That’s just easier for me some days. You may have also picked up on the fact that I don’t care to accessorize a whole lot. I’m the pickiest person of all time when it comes to wearing necklaces. I don’t really know what I like. It’s like they can’t make a necklace out there that’s perfect for me. I own maybe thirty necklaces and I only wear two or three. My kind of accessorizing is just some statement studded earrings. That’s about it. I own a thousand of those. These “Rocket” jeans give me some kind of confidence. I’ve never owned a pair of jeans that fit me so well. I think because they’re high waisted I feel like I can do more with them. You all know I love me some high waisted bottoms. Okay, I’m signing off for now my friends. See you in the next post. Out & About

IMG_2923IMG_2939 IMG_2927 IMG_2933 IMG_2945 IMG_2948I’m not embarrassed to say that I’ve worn this top 3 days in a row. It’s flowy, comfy, roomy, and any other word that ends with “-ey” that you can think of to describe it. This light weight top is all I care about. While strolling around Anthropologie I noticed that I’ve been gravitating more towards the comfortable pieces. With the cold weather here and all, being cozy and comfortable is more important to me. I still have my glam days but I really cannot have too many casual tops. Throwing on a cute hat, ripped jeans and heeled booties is a must for me when it comes to being casual and staying chic. You feel me? I wore this little number out and about in my city… running errands and staying surprisingly warm. It was a nice day to wear something not so heavy for once. Also, I’ve fallen back in love with red lipstick. My holy grail color is a deep plum or mahogany type of lipstick but nowadays I’m loving the look of a simple eye with bold brows and bold deep red lips. I’m telling ya, this outfit would be mediocre without the lipstick. I also have to be honest here, I wore these Alturzarra booties for maybe two hours before I changed into my UGGS. I’m usually one who can handle heels for 8 straight hours but these babies hurt! They’re cute and all but not that cute. I’m a little bummed that they tore up my feet so much. Oh well, beauty is pain. Is that how the saying goes? I can’t remember.

If you’re curious, I’m watching “Jersey Girl”, a classic to me at 1 in the morning because I cannot sleep. I decided to type up a blog post because I truly have nothing else to do. Why did Jennifer Lopez have to die so soon? She’s too beautiful to die in any movie okay! If you’ve been following my blog for awhile you might know that J.LO is my top 3 favorite famous people. I think Kate Hudson is somewhere up there as well. Okay, I’m rambling. I think it’s time for some melatonin. Goodnight or good morning or whatever time it is when you’re read this.

Daisies on a Chilly Day

IMG_2774 IMG_2777 IMG_2783IMG_2793 IMG_2787IMG_2780On a windy November day in Denver, Colorado I made a common fashion mistake. The Weather: 1 Me: 0 I wore a dress and heels on our first snowfall of the season. I told myself that I didn’t care what the weather was like, I was going to wear this outfit no matter what. I’ve had this little number in my head for weeks and I was so excited to finally wear this dress that’s been sitting in my closet for months. My boyfriend warned me but I didn’t listen. We snapped these pictures in under 60 seconds because I was absolutely freezing. (Can’t you tell by my expression? Ha.) The wind was like ice. I didn’t completely sacrifice my outfit though. I went home and put on some grey leggings and my trusty brown combat boots. I should have done that in the first place because that outfit was cute too. I would say that I’ve learned my lesson and I that I should pay more attention to the weather but I know how I am. I don’t like letting the weather win but I definitely need to be a little smart about making my outfit decisions. We all make these mistakes. It’s part of the journey. My biggest tip is to be weather conscious but still remain yourself. I wanted to wear this dress and I did. I’m proud of myself for not letting the weather choose my outfit for me.

All About The Scarf

IMG_2739 IMG_2741 IMG_2742 IMG_2746 IMG_2748 IMG_2752 IMG_2770Sometimes, when you’re in a rush or having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction, a scarf can easily become your new best friend. One of the easiest things for me to do is to base an entire outfit around a scarf I want to wear. This usually involves a plain tee, skinny jeans, heels and a simple jacket. It’s the easiest trick in the book. This scarf is on a whole ‘nother level. It can double as a blanket pretty much and I’m in love with it. I love pops of color mixed with camel-like colors. It’s one of my new favorite things. I wore this outfit to lunch with some friends and to run a few errands. This gigantic scarf didn’t bug me as much as I thought it would. It kept me warm and that’s all that matters. My “go to” fall/winter outfit is pretty much similar to this. All winter long I’ll be wearing these trust-y black skinny jeans, a warm top and some statement shoes. I’ll be rocking that look all winter long because when the weather gets colder, I really can’t bother with anything that doesn’t make me feel warm, cozy and comfortable.

Fun With Layers

IMG_2626 IMG_2627IMG_2633_Fotor_Collage IMG_2649 IMG_2655 IMG_2659 IMG_2663Adding fall layers to a summer piece can be tricky. My biggest tip to you is to not think about it so much. You can never go wrong with throwing on a cardigan and some boots. I don’t like putting away my summer clothes when fall and winter time strikes. Heck, that takes all the fun out of it. My summer items are still as good in fall as they are in the summer. Warming them up is actually really simple. It’s easy things like putting a long sleeve top under it, adding leggings, adding boots, putting on a dark lip, or wearing a denim jacket. There’s really no messing it up. I wasn’t worried at all about wearing this bold printed floral jumpsuit with layering pieces that didn’t match. I felt like being funky this day and the turn out was great. There’s people out there that appreciate the funky, unique, non-matching side of you. Embrace that side every once in awhile. The autumn time is literally the perfect time to do so.
