I need a break.

IMG_1935 IMG_1936 IMG_1946 IMG_1948 IMG_1951Believe it or not, I don’t like to dress up every-single-day. I’m not even sure if that’s healthy. You need to give yourself a little time out every once in awhile. Put on your favorite pair of ripped up skinny jeans and call it a day my friend. I love days like these a lot because I’m never worried about putting on a show with my outfit. I kind of throw on whatever sounds the comfiest. I still have to be somewhat presentable because I’m usually heading to work or to run errands. I ONLY leave the house looking like a complete slob when it’s past midnight and I’m just headed to the grocery store to grab some chocolate. In and out of Walmart in .30 seconds. That’s the only scenario when it’s right to wear sweats that could fit your boyfriend and a t-shirt that has your dinner from earlier on it. Sadly, that’s some peoples daily wardrobe. Let’s take a moment of silence for those people shall we. Hopefully they find my blog and realize how EASY it is to be comfy but look presentable at the same time. I know most people would choose flats but I’ve honestly trained my feet to wear heels so much that wearing flats might be a struggle. I love my heels. LOVE THEM. A little tip if you’re feeling like your outfit is missing something, always make sure that you give all of your necklaces a little fashion show in the mirror before you make your final outfit decision. Find one that makes you feel beautiful and then I think you’ve found a winner. This outfit would be nothing without this bright orange necklace. (It matches the gorgeous trees behind me.) Ahh…Fall. Why you gotta be so beautiful?

Movie Date Night Outfits

IMG_2367 IMG_2372 IMG_2377 IMG_2381 IMG_2407IMG_2388IMG_2395Nothing is better than seeing a movie with your partner in crime. It’s Wyatt and I’s absolutely favorite thing to do on a Friday Night. We sometimes get dressed up, go out to a nice restaurant, and watch a good flick. We decided on “Fury” because it was the only movie we wouldn’t be late to. We are ALWAYS running to late to movies. I don’t know how we manage to do it every single time but we do. Fury was actually really good. I’ll watch anything that Shia LaBeouf is in. He’s my number one forever.

Our outfits: No matter the agenda, on date night we have to be comfortable. High waisted pants and a crop top for me and a baseball 3/4 sleeve tee for Wyatt. Getting ready for date night is a huge part of date night. And it’s probably one of my favorite parts too. I’ve tried so hard to get Wyatt out of his comfort zone and to wear other things but it’s NOT happening. If he’s comfortable in jeans and tee (more like workout clothes) every single day, than I’ll just have to deal with it. One of the hardest things for a fashion blogger is to dress her boyfriend. They like what they like and there’s no changing that. Trust me, I’ve tried.  I have to pick my battles with this one.

Small town girl with big city dreams.

IMG_1855IMG_1823 IMG_1828

^My face when my photographer (aka boyfriend) farted.
IMG_1837 IMG_1841IMG_1865 IMG_1862Am I the only one that feels like this outfit belongs to a girl from Oklahoma? A girl who’s just out and about shopping her favorite local boutiques and picking up peaches at the Farmers Market on her way home that’s surrounded by a white picket fence and big red barn in the backyard? No? Okay, scratch that. But I did feel like such a country meets city girl in this outfit. There are hints of both lifestyles in this outfit. The metallic sweater reminds me of the bright city lights while the boots take me back to that open dirt road.

I will never regret growing up in a small town. I complained about it for a good 18 years but I’m so grateful my parents raised me in a itsy bitsy tiny town in New Mexico. What I miss most about that little town was knowing that there wasn’t such a rush to get places. People had manners. People cared only about the simple things. Life was about going to the high school football game on a Thursday night, or hanging out at the Sonic Drive thru. Gosh, do I miss those simple days.I do not regret the decision moving to a big city though. I’ve taken everything that my parents and good ole’ Farmington New Mexico has taught me and applied it to my life here in Denver. I’m happy and a little bit proud of myself to say that I’ve remained the humble, kind, and respectful person that my parents raised me to be. Sorry to say but no city, no state, no job, no amount of money or no amount of friends can change me. I will always remain little old me, that small town girl who’s chasing her big city dreams.
