BowTie PaperBag Pants

IMG_5736IMG_5720IMG_5739 IMG_5724 IMG_5741I really think I have discovered my new “happy pants.” Yes, it’s an actual thing. A great pair of pants can truly change your mood and make you happy, hence the name, happy pants. How could you not smile when you see these any how? The paper bag style is just lovely. I’m sure at some point in your life you have worn pants with a bow tie on it. It’s a classic yet statement look that every single girl can pull off, no matter the age. Anthropologie has two colors to choose from: Black and Orange. Surprisingly enough, the black pair can be styled in so many ways with so many different styles of tops. So for those ladies that like to keep their wardrobe a little safe but also a little fun, the black pair is just for you. But for my bold sistas out there, Orange is your color. Go big or go home am I right? I own plenty of black pants, so when I come across an opportunity to own a pair of striking orange ones…TAKE MY MONEY! These pants haven’t been the easiest thing to style from to day to day but hey, I like a challenge. That’s what I live for. I figured I would show you the most simple and bulletproof way to style these pants. I paired it my trusty ole’ crop top and my all time favorite blazer for a very sleek, minimal look. Hope you love it just as much as I do. You can always opt for a longer more conservative tee if that’s what you’re comfortable with. If so, your outfit will be transformed to fit into a more work appropriate setting. Give these pants a try. I think with an open mind you will fall in love with them like I did. Head over heels.

I ordered these pants in the size 00P. No regrets.

With love,

Modern Day Snow White

IMG_5251IMG_5268IMG_5243IMG_5249IMG_5266 IMG_5250IMG_5244

“Lips as red as the rose. Hair as black as ebony. Skin white as snow.”

If only, if only I could actually be a Disney character. I mean don’t we all wish that? We all want a happy ending and an apple that won’t kill us. I’ve always wondered why I didn’t get my mom’s golden, bronze, Hispanic skin. A long time ago it used to bug me that I didn’t get those Latina genes but I’ve accepted it. I’ve grown to love my porcelain skin and dark hair. I’m my very own Snow White. Since I cut my hair, I see the resemblance more and more. The irony of all this is that I hate the snow but I do love wearing white. White on white or even creamy whites is one of my favorite “go to” chic outfits. Celebrities do it all the time because it’s timeless just like the Disney princess in the book. I don’t think this trend will ever go out of style and neither will Snow White. Since starting my blog, I’ve learned to appreciate timeless looks. Simplicity is a something that I appreciate more and more with time but I will never let go of my bold factor. Ever. As of now, I’ve let go of the crazy prints and patterns. I still love color and prints but in moderation and in the right way. I’ve been stocking up my closet with pieces with will grow with me as I age. I’m done buying immature clothing if that makes any sense. Building your wardrobe this way will ensure that  you won’t have any regrets in 5, 10, 20 years on your wardrobe choices. It prevents those trips to the consignment shop as well. I will never get sick of styling this camel colored blazer, fleece pullover, and dot skirt. My favorite timeless pieces in one clean, feminine outfit. I only hope Snow White approves.

I ordered this skirt in a 0P at first but ended up with a 00P. Either Anthropologie’s clothes are getting bigger or I’m losing weight. Both are very likely.

Modern & Modest Feat. Dainty Jewell’s

IMG_6233IMG_6206 IMG_6219IMG_6279 IMG_6220 IMG_6214IMG_6260IMG_6221IMG_6209 IMG_6231 IMG_6244 IMG_6274Hello There!

I couldn’t choose just a few pictures for this post. There’s a WHOPPING 12 photos because this dress deserves that much. I really can’t explain the feeling I got in my stomach when I first put this dress by Dainty Jewell’s on. I guess some would call it “butterflies.” This fabulous number is for those girls that don’t mind taking risks, for the ones that find complete joy in leopard prints, and especially for those showstoppers out there. You know who you are. The print and shape is bold yet timeless. This stunning piece is more than capable to be worn at any age. I picture myself wearing this for the rest of my life not only because of the timeless factor but the extravagant material is top notch, trust me. The Peter Pan neckline is what made this dress in my opinion. I think this small detail transforms the dress from blah to bang. All of the dresses from Dainty Jewell’s are the epitome of modern and modest. They’re clothes are classy yet stylish. I appreciate a company that doesn’t have to show a lot of skin to sell their clothes. It’s so rare to find modesty these days. You go DJ! (That’s Dainty Jewell’s, for those that don’t understand my slang.)

More about Dainty Jewell’s- “Dainty Jewell’s originally began as a creative outlet for sixteenyearold Charity Jewell. As a young woman intent on living a godly life, she desired to dress not only modestly but in a way that was classy and fashionable. Charity eventually began designing items to sell to other women with similar values and beliefs. She first began by simply upcycling tops, skirts, and dresses by adding embellishments; these bows, ruffles, and attention to dainty details on these garments was the start of a signature line that continues to the present in all of Dainty Jewell’s original designs. Throughout the last few years, Dainty Jewell’s has expanded not only as a modest clothing company but as a ministry for women all across the world who desire to present themselves as intentional ladies.” …More about their story on their dot com HERE.

Quirky Prints & Tulle

IMG_5305 IMG_5329IMG_5306 IMG_5308IMG_5326 IMG_5312 “Quirky” is a word that I find myself using almost every single day. Weirdly enough, I don’t believe I’ve ever typed that word into a blog post. Well, there’s a first for everything. This pug printed top is the definition of quirky. It’s odd. It’s unconventional and that’s exactly what I’m about. Not to mention the fact that it’s mustard yellow: my all time favorite color. I get stares from a million miles away when I wear this top. I don’t blame them because it really is unexpected. That’s what I love about Anthropologie. I can always count on the designers to make me feel unique. Being out of place sometimes isn’t a bad thing. What do I always say about stepping our of your comfort zone? It will surprise you to find that, yes, you can rock that weird dog printed shirt, and yes, you can take on the world as well. I went overboard (like I normally do) and layered a striped turtleneck underneath. I would have left it there and just threw on some skinny jeans but no, that’s not how I roll. I threw on this eye-catching tulle skirt (as if the top wasn’t bizarre enough) and my outfit was complete. Sticking to the basic black and white and adding a pop of color will never do you wrong. For some strange reason the chaos works. You should try it sometime.

Basic & Minimal

IMG_4840 IMG_4842 IMG_4848 IMG_4851 IMG_4854 IMG_4868 IMG_4874Hair up. Skinny jeans on. I guess I can throw on some heels to give the illusion that I’m trying. Simple and minimal was the look I was striving for because some days I just cannot be bothered. Pulling the hair back and throwing on some basic sleek clothes can be so refreshing. No patterns or prints fogging up my brain. No difficulties with the curling iron. Just an all black outfit with a boyfriend blazer to keep me looking and feeling calm and collected. There was something about this outfit that took me back to Kim Kardashian circa 2010. Before she became a “West.” The days when all she wore were blazers and jeans with hair pinned back into a sleek bun. She had things to do and an empire to build. I bet she couldn’t be bothered with all the hoopla either. Look at her now, no more business attire. Now that she’s reached a level of fame that no one can top, she wears Givenchy to bed. Must be nice. In a way, I’m building my own little empire. Not the same extravagant level like Kim but still a dream nonetheless. I strive every single day to do something for my future. I take a step out of my comfort zone all the time. When I’m not working I’m educating my brain on all things fashion. I still have so much to learn. No, I will never be famous like Kim but someday I WILL go to bed with a full heart and with the feeling of success, just like her. I have a love/hate relationship with the Kardashian fam bam. I think we all do. No matter the drama, they are a family to look up to based on the simple fact that they built an empire so incredible out of nothing.

With love,
