Birthday Outfit in Manhattan

My birthday dress HAD to be just as spectacular as my birthday. So, without question, I chose this bright orange/red swing dress to wear on my special day. It’s lightweight material and design had me feeling like a movie star all day long whilst still being comfortable on those sticky subways and humid streets. This dress did all sorts of memorable things starting with mass at St. Patricks Cathedral, a walk in Central Park, brunch in the perfect hole in the wall restaurant with the best vodka pasta and mimosa’s ever and last but not least, shopping on 5th avenue.

I had the best 21st birthday. It started at midnight at Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square with my first legal drink being a delicious daiquiri and surrounded by a bunch of chill, cool people singing me Happy Birthday. Our waitress went over and beyond for me to feel special in those first moments of being 21. We didn’t end up back in our hotel until 3am or so and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It feels so satisfying being twenty-one. Finally, right?

These photos were taken right after a beautiful mass (The mass was about marriage. How funny! I got engaged that night.) outside of St. Patricks Cathedral. We went on to eat the best pasta and pizza on this planet and afterwards walked it off at Central Park where I spotted the most beautiful bride (all the signs were there.) I did a little damage inside Anthropologie and Zara and it was already time to get ready for our cruise that took us around the city. A New York minute is no joke.

And the rest is history…

Culottes & Deleting My Blog

I’ve broken up with jeans and found a new love: Culottes. I love the fact that they are so trendy and fun but more importantly how comfortable and freeing they are. No matter how dressed up I get there’s always one thing that remains important to me and that’s being comfortable in my clothing. There’s nothing I love more than looking fancy and feeling great. Zara has been my one stop shop for all of those things. From business, to everyday, to glam, this store has it all to make a girl feel amazing. They also have mens and kids clothing which is even better. My entire outfit is from Zara. Since I’ve rocked Zara so much over the years, I’ve gotten so many people addicted to it. You’re welcome by the way.

I’ve have been s-t-r-u-g-g-l-i-n-g with typing up these blog posts. Heck, taking the pictures has been the most frustrating part of all. I’m not like most fashion bloggers who their entire job is blogging. Nope not me girlfriend. I have a full time job and responsibilities and don’t have the time or energy like I used to. I guess it’s all part of growing up. Today, for the very first time, I contemplated deleting my blog. I know I know, it’s shocking. I just feel really unsupported and overwhelmed. I feel like I’m the only person that wants this blog to remain successful and fun. I’m not going to name names but it seems like other people that are part of the production of my website, well, their hearts aren’t in it anymore and that’s the most difficult part. I’m not satisfied with the content and I’m just over being the only one that cares. Story of my life actually.

Sweet Summer

Oh hello there. I’m sorry for being a little M.I.A but it’s all been for the good. I’ve had a lot on my plate the last couple of weeks with lots of fun life changing transitions: new job, moving, weekend getaways, family trips and planning the ultimate birthday vacation. Here I am, better late than never, with one of my favorite outfits this summer. The star of the show would be this multicolor, pleated skirt that goes with just about everything. I love this skirt more than words. I’ll be rocking it all year long for the rest of my life. It’s THAT wearable. It has easily become one of my favorite and most cherished pieces in my closet.

While I was moving into my new place, I made sure that the most important, most loved, and most valuable things were taken care of first. Surprise surprise, the first box that came through the door and the first to be unpacked would be my clothes. Ha! Hey, a fashion blogger has to take good care of her fashion…like duh. I didn’t even care about my dishes or furniture because I was too preoccupied with my clothes. I’m such a girl. After about two weeks of being in my new place, today was the first day with wifi and I cannot tell you how comforting it feels to be laying on my couch right now, laptop in my lap, Modern Family playing in the background, just writing to all of you. I’m in my happy place that is for sure.

I also did work a full work day today so I think it’s time for me to head to bed. Come back soon because I’ve boughten lots of new goodies the last couple of weeks that I’ve been M.I.A and I can’t wait to get those posts up.

Oh So Delightful

I just need to mention how long my hair is right now! It didn’t grow fast by any means, heck it’s been almost a year since I chopped it off but I’m so pleased at the length that’s its at right now. It’s at that “fashion bob” stage and I think that’s where I like it best. I’ve done the short and the long version and this is by far the most maintainable and “me” cut. My hair has never been so full and healthy and I owe all that to my talented hairstylist, my mother. She takes such good care of my hair and never allows me to damaged it. Never will I ever go lighter again because it took literally years after I did the infamous ombré thing to my hair. I’ll stick with the chocolate brown hair-do for as long as possible. I would love to be a redhead tho. Maybe in a another lifetime right?

Okay enough about hair. Let’s talk fashion, I mean that’s why you’re here right? I actually don’t have much to say besides the fact that I’m absolutely obsessed with this off the shoulder top and I wish I could wear it every single day of my life. This outfit might just be my “go to” summer outfit when I’m just feeling fun and casual. I will definitely take this outfit to a Rockies game and fun backyard barbecue. Be prepared to see this top in the near future. I just love it so much because it’s oh so delightful.

Casual Holiday Outfit

With Independence Day coming up, I wanted to show my excitement and support but in the most understated and minimal kind of way. A lot of people love to dress up in the obvious classic red, white and blue (me being one of the them) but this year I decided to go for a more laid-back kind of look. Nothing says “I’m ready for hot dogs, barbecue, summer drinks and back yard chillin” like boyfriend jeans and a midi top. Am I right? Every year around the 4th of July, I usually go for the obvious choice of a bright red dress or stripes from head to toe but since I’ll be spending this holiday moving into my new place (Yes, I’m moving again. I cannot stay in one place.) I’d much rather be comfortable in my converse than all dressed up and no where to go. I’m very excited to be spending my holiday with my one and only, watching the fireworks on our rooftop and just enjoying each other’s company, like always.
