Paris Is Always A Good Idea

IMG_9917 IMG_9910 IMG_9928 IMG_9925 IMG_9918 IMG_9912There’s really nothing better than a new graphic white tee, a black leather jacket, and statement heels in August. Can you believe that it’s already August? We are finally in my favorite month in the entire year. I might be a little biased because it’s my birthday month. August may be a month to party but it’s also a month to start thinking of transitioning your outfitting for fall. I’ve been loving the deep browns, greens and reds lately and I think my fashion brain is getting a little too excited for the upcoming fall months. I wanted to stay bright and summer-y in this post because it is still technically summer but on the inside I’m just ready to bring out my burgundy lipstick.

Sorry for the short and sweet post. I’m off to a fun birthday/dance party and a girl’s gotta look fly. Talk to you all soon!

Minimal & Chic

IMG_9893 IMG_9905 IMG_9909 IMG_9894 IMG_9903I’ve been loving the minimal look as of late. There’s a combination of things as to why I’ve been rocking this simple look but most of it revolves around on not having the time to get too creative with my outfitting. Settling into my new home and my crazy busy schedule are the main contributors to my lack of focus and drive on fashion blogging. There’s nothing wrong in being a little busy bee. I promise to bring you new fabulous posts here and there once I’m feeling like I have everything under control. But until then, I’ll be wearing what I wear best: Minimal and Chic. This tunic has been the biggest life saver. I’ve ran to this moss colored beauty in times of need and it has never failed me. Just recently, I chose this exact outfit for a much needed date night with Wyatt, and don’t worry, I brought along my trusty black leather jacket to keep things looking spicy. Moss is the easiest color to pull off and combined with this Cloth & Stone fabric it’s a winner on so many levels.

Guess what. I caved and got a SnapChat. Add me: karissamariiee

Oh So Delightful

IMG_9521 IMG_9487 IMG_9493 IMG_9522 IMG_9499 IMG_9523 IMG_9511I just need to mention how long my hair is right now! It didn’t grow fast by any means, heck it’s been almost a year since I chopped it off but I’m so pleased at the length that’s its at right now. It’s at that “fashion bob” stage and I think that’s where I like it best. I’ve done the short and the long version and this is by far the most maintainable and “me” cut. My hair has never been so full and healthy and I owe all that to my talented hairstylist, my mother. She takes such good care of my hair and never allows me to damaged it. Never will I ever go lighter again because it took literally years after I did the infamous ombré thing to my hair. I’ll stick with the chocolate brown hair-do for as long as possible. I would love to be a redhead tho. Maybe in a another lifetime right?

Okay enough about hair. Let’s talk fashion, I mean that’s why you’re here right? I actually don’t have much to say besides the fact that I’m absolutely obsessed with this off the shoulder top and I wish I could wear it every single day of my life. This outfit might just be my “go to” summer outfit when I’m just feeling fun and casual. I will definitely take this outfit to a Rockies game and fun backyard barbecue. Be prepared to see this top in the near future. I just love it so much because it’s oh so delightful.

Casual Holiday Outfit

IMG_9653 IMG_9652 IMG_9661 IMG_9646 IMG_9644 IMG_9659 IMG_9647With Independence Day coming up, I wanted to show my excitement and support but in the most understated and minimal kind of way. A lot of people love to dress up in the obvious classic red, white and blue (me being one of the them) but this year I decided to go for a more laid-back kind of look. Nothing says “I’m ready for hot dogs, barbecue, summer drinks and back yard chillin” like boyfriend jeans and a midi top. Am I right? Every year around the 4th of July, I usually go for the obvious choice of a bright red dress or stripes from head to toe but since I’ll be spending this holiday moving into my new place (Yes, I’m moving again. I cannot stay in one place.) I’d much rather be comfortable in my converse than all dressed up and no where to go. I’m very excited to be spending my holiday with my one and only, watching the fireworks on our rooftop and just enjoying each other’s company, like always.

Everyone have a fabulous and safe 4th of July.

Modern Day Snow White

IMG_5251IMG_5268IMG_5243IMG_5249IMG_5266 IMG_5250IMG_5244

“Lips as red as the rose. Hair as black as ebony. Skin white as snow.”

If only, if only I could actually be a Disney character. I mean don’t we all wish that? We all want a happy ending and an apple that won’t kill us. I’ve always wondered why I didn’t get my mom’s golden, bronze, Hispanic skin. A long time ago it used to bug me that I didn’t get those Latina genes but I’ve accepted it. I’ve grown to love my porcelain skin and dark hair. I’m my very own Snow White. Since I cut my hair, I see the resemblance more and more. The irony of all this is that I hate the snow but I do love wearing white. White on white or even creamy whites is one of my favorite “go to” chic outfits. Celebrities do it all the time because it’s timeless just like the Disney princess in the book. I don’t think this trend will ever go out of style and neither will Snow White. Since starting my blog, I’ve learned to appreciate timeless looks. Simplicity is a something that I appreciate more and more with time but I will never let go of my bold factor. Ever. As of now, I’ve let go of the crazy prints and patterns. I still love color and prints but in moderation and in the right way. I’ve been stocking up my closet with pieces with will grow with me as I age. I’m done buying immature clothing if that makes any sense. Building your wardrobe this way will ensure that  you won’t have any regrets in 5, 10, 20 years on your wardrobe choices. It prevents those trips to the consignment shop as well. I will never get sick of styling this camel colored blazer, fleece pullover, and dot skirt. My favorite timeless pieces in one clean, feminine outfit. I only hope Snow White approves.

I ordered this skirt in a 0P at first but ended up with a 00P. Either Anthropologie’s clothes are getting bigger or I’m losing weight. Both are very likely.

Xoxo,
