Fluttered sleeves, fluttered hearts.

I don’t know what it is but the older I get, the more I love bell shaped sleeves. Add that to a swing dress with a little hispanic inspired design and I’m just done. DONE. I can’t even begin to explain the beauty I felt while wearing this special dress. It’s unreal what a good dress, cute heels and your favorite color of lipstick will do to your spirit. I really needed a little pick-me-up and sometimes the best thing I can do for myself is to get up, get dressed and pretend everything’s just fine.

A Picnic With Me // Red Gingham

When I last wore this dress one of my bff’s said,

“Girl, you make me want to have a picnic right here, right now.”

I think wearing a dress full of red gingham has that effect on some people. Gingham in general gives me life but colored gingham? Dead. I love this pattern on summer more than I love sprinkles on ice-cream. Gingham print is all the rage right now and I just cannot get enough of it.

Drown me in gingham.

A Blue Summer

A blue summer it is.

I have a lot of very special pieces in my wardrobe that I will cherish for so many different reasons and pieces that I will never get rid of and some I may even hold onto just to pass down to my daughters someday. This jumpsuit is one of those really special pieces to me. It is beautifully made and carefully stitched to perfection. The price tag is something I wouldn’t normally consider, and trust me I got it during a promotion but I just knew it would be a piece in my wardrobe that I would just love until the end of time. You can see it for yourself that it’s stunningly sweet with just a hint of sexy with the open back. I got endless amounts of “I LOVE YOUR OUTFIT!” when I wore this the other day. It makes a girl feel good and that’s just worth it to me.

Not to mention I especially love the color blue nowadays. I like to the think I’m representing my love to my little boys. Silly, but it’s the truth.

Pink Lemonade

Since delivering my twins, it’s no secret that I’ve had issues with my body. I just don’t look or feel the same and yes, this is normal after pregnancy but what I struggle with is the fact that I don’t have my babies here with me. Mentally, that changes things. I explained it better in my “Loving Your Body After Miscarriage” post but what I’m trying to say is that the thought of wearing this strapless dress with a fitted bodice was terrifying to me. I just told myself to not let the fear of feeling ugly keep you from wearing that gorgeous dress you’ve been wanting to wear.

It was a small milestone for me. I still don’t feel like myself yet but maybe that’s the point. Maybe it’s okay for me to feel and look a little different. My body created two beautiful little boys and because of this I gained a little extra weight in the places I did not want to gain weight and that’s okay. I provided for my babies, for only a short amount of time, but I still provided. This body is my reminder, everyday, that I created two angels.

Give me a bottle of pink lemonade, a sherbet colored dress and some yellow flats and I’d be one happy lady.
