I’m currently in bed surrounded by kleenex and medicine because go me… I’m sick. Luckily as of now its just a head cold but a pounding one at that. I ALWAYS ALWAYS get a cold when the weather is about to change so I shouldn’t be too surprised. I wish I could lay in bed all day on this lovely Sunday and blog about something quirky but I just don’t have the energy for it or the time because homegirl has to go to work. Gotta work through the pain to pay for those expensive outfits if you know what I mean. Here’s a simple, bright outfit that is tied together by a classic denim jacket. A denim jacket will never go out of style so if you’re considering buying one…JUST DO IT. You’ll never go a day without reaching for it. Trust me. Well that’s all for today my friends. Go take your vitamins so you don’t end up miserable like me.

Zara & Ice cream

Zara and Ice cream: the two things I cannot live without. Wyatt and I like to go to Bonnie Brae’s Ice Cream shop, the best place to get ice-cream in Denver. Trust me, I know ice cream and this place is goooood. So good. I think my mom ate nothing but chocolate ice-cream while she was pregnant with me because, have mercy, I can’t stop eating it. Enough about ice cream, lets get to the Zara portion of this post. Zara is the epitome of minimalistic chic. I reach for my Zara when I’m feeling simple but still want to make some type of a statement. Today I went for a more laid back look. Zara has pieces that I will always love and keep in my closet forever, that’s why I continue to browse on their website a billion times a day. They’re that good. Whether you’re looking for fancy or looking for tom boy, Zara has it and you won’t be disappointed. It might be a little outside of your comfort zone but that’s the point, remember?

Starbucks Date with Rachel Zoe

When I go to Starbucks I order one of two drinks, and two drinks only. It’s either

-Peach Green Tea Lemonade

-Decaf Pumpkin Spice Latte

I don’t care about anything else in life. Judge me. Excuse my overly fall appropriate outfit in this post by the way. It’s a little too fall appropriate if you ask me. I’m honestly NOT ready for the colder weather. NOT ONE BIT. I feel like Denver didn’t have a good summer, it rained most days so it’s safe to say I’m little bummed that it’s already September. I’m a summer kind of girl.

I have to announce that THEE Rachel Zoe (my one and only career idol of all time) not only favorited a picture on my Instagram (@karissamariie) but also favorited a tweet from me (@misskaymarie3) I FEEL THE LOVE. This post is dedicated to her because I just absolutely adore her. She’s everything I hope to become when it comes to fashion. I have big dreams to be involved in the fashion industry because of her. So I went to Starbuck and read her newest book, as one does, and enjoyed every second of it. Rachel Zoe, I love you.

Need a Pick Me Up?

From the peachy blush down to my Zara high heels, I am 100% a girly girl. I enjoy dressing up in extreme feminine pieces from time to time. Don’t get me wrong, I have a few tom boy pieces in my closet as well, but the first day of September called for this white long skirt and grey tank from Anthropologie. I wasn’t going to argue.

This skirt never fails me by the way. Every time I wear it, I feel so pretty. No shame in that either. Need a pick me up? Put on a pair of shoes, earrings, favorite white tee, skinny jeans that make your behind look like J.LO’s…WHATEVER YOU NEED, to remind yourself that you are beautiful. Because girlfriend, you are. Never doubt that. But also know that you’re a 10 in those sweat pants and your hair in ponytail. I got your back even when you’re eyebrows aren’t done.

His & Hers

Who knew that Wyatt was such a model? (Swooning over him as I’m typing)

Wyatt and I had a very relaxing/spontaneous date night. Spontaneous because we didn’t plan to have a date night because we are BROKE but then we remembered that his parents gave me a Cheesecake Factory gift card for my birthday. Which, by the way, was literally the most perfect gift. This girl (raised hand to the ceiling) loves food. Right after work we couldn’t wait to get our hands off our new friend the Canon 60D and I have to say that we’re falling more and more in love it as each second passes. Still learning how to use it. We ask our photographer buddies every chance we get some of the questions we’re having. Oh, and Wyatt wants to become a photographer now (add that to the list of occupations he’s tried) and I am all for it. Seeing him with the officiall Canon strap around his neck is the cutest thing ever. He’s good at basically everything so why not. Hope you liked this “His & Hers” outfit post. Hopefully this can inspire YOUR man that dressing cute can be effortless. I mean, throwing on a plain black tee and converse sounds good to me.
