Tropical Vacation Outfit

IMG_28188 IMG_2827 IMG_2830 IMG_2824

Tropical Vacation Packing Tip: Only pack flow-y, easy breezy clothing because you won’t want to wear anything else. Just the thought of putting something constricting or form fitting while I was in Hawaii made me cringe. I felt best in my maxi dresses and loose t-shirts. The heat is the main reason you don’t have to wear anything too tight and let’s not forget about the gnarly sunburn you’ll get on your first day of your honeymoon..or was that just me?

Wyatt and I were too eager and did a little sun bathing by the ocean and got burnt our very first day of our honeymoon, I don’t have any regrets though because mine turned into a perfect golden tan just 2 days later but note to future self: you can’t ever pack enough sunscreen.

I bought this beautiful light teal colored maxi dress not just for the honeymoon but for everyday after that. I cannot get over how comfortable this dress is. I’ve always loved maxi dresses, I just don’t own enough in my closet. I’m so happy with this dress purchase because it was under $20! CRAZY! Find out where I purchased this summer staple in the links below.

Laced Up In Hawaii

IMG_2862 IMG_2835 IMG_28554 IMG_2843 IMG_2852 IMG_2831

Hey friends,

I’m back at it again with another blog post. I’ve received a lot of questions about this darling laced crop top. It’s been one of my favorite summer purchases so far because of its delicate detailing and super soft fabric. I absolutely loved bringing it along with me to our honeymoon in Maui. There really is no better place to rock this backless babe like Hawaii. I found myself throwing it on any chance I got until Wyatt said one day, “So, you’re wearing that again?” Okay, okay Wyatt.  I’ll change.

Let’s talk about the shorts. I’ve never been a DIY girl no matter how much I try. I would love to wrap myself up in projects and get swept away by crafts and such but I just don’t have the time for it. One day I was out and about thrift shopping and I came across this wranglers in the kids section. I thought to myself, “There’s no way I would ever rock these but if I just cut them into cute little short shorts…” and BAM! One of my all time favorite denim shorts were born. It’s ridiculous how much denim shorts cost these days and I’m pretty sure I paid a whopping $2 dollars for these-not to mention it took me a total of 60 seconds to cut.

YAY FOR D.I.Y!

Last Blog Post As A Single Lady

California: 3 Days In Counting

Wedding Day: 6 Days

Here it is, the time has finally arrived. My suitcase is packed and ready to go. It’s filled with honeymoon attire, a rehearsal dress, a beautiful veil, anti-anxiety medication (you never know when the mood will strike) a mountain of swimsuits, a few gowns suitable for a candlelit dinner, heels, converse, back up batteries for the camera, lingerie (again, you never know when the mood will strike) and lots more. I had to purchase the biggest suitcase ever just for this trip because it’s going to be a trip of a lifetime and I didn’t want to chance it. Not only is my suitcase filled with a bride-to be’s must have items but it’s also filled with a bride-to be’s hopes and dreams for the future.

Since I was a little girl I had always imagined what my wedding would be like and here it is…right in front of me. A little anxiety is normal right? A little fear? This is a big day and it’s all quite overwhelming to me. Sometimes I just have stop, close my eyes and take a breather.

Well folks, this is it. This is the last post as a single lady. Next time I talk to you guys I’ll be a married woman. EEE! (Big smile here.)

See you after the honeymoon.

On The Run

IMG_23677 IMG_2380 IMG_2368 IMG_2350 IMG_23772 IMG_2378 IMG_2354 IMG_23777

Coffee: A recent discovery of mine that I can no longer live without.

I stayed far far away from coffee after I realized that I could no longer be functional without it. I began having horrible panic attacks if I took too much or not enough. My body became too dependent in such a short amount of time. Since I’ve been nearly 4 years sober from coffee, Wyatt decided that it might be a good idea for me dip my toes back in and try just a little bit of coffee a day. Oh, man. I’m in love. I’m no doctor but I do know a little bit of caffeine a day does wonders and it’s necessary for a girl like me to even roll out of bed. There was a while there where I couldn’t even move on my days off from work. I stayed in bed not because I wanted to but because I HAD to. My brain and my body were over exhausted and there was no way of them catching up. Over the last week, I’ve only had about 2 full cups of coffee in total and I’ve already started to notice an increase in my activity. I’m officially the girl on the run again. The day no longer has enough hours for me.

Well, it could be the coffee but I’m also pretty sure the great weather has something to do with it. I’m a summer girl. Always have and always will be. There’s something about the sunshine that brings out the very best in me. I’m excited to see where this new discovery will take me. Maybe not very far but I’m happy with the small amount of progress I’ve made. The best thing about coffee for me is that I’m sleeping better at night. Who would have thought?

Thank you coffee… just thank you.

The perfect outfit for the girl on the run like me is minimal and ultra chic. I tend to reach for my stripes and my distressed denim. Once I throw on my fashion forward mules, I am out the door.

Street Look Stripes

IMG_2408 IMG_2382 IMG_2410 IMG_2384 IMG_2411 IMG_2401

Clean and precise stripes will take any city by storm.

I may or may not feel like a fashion referee or like a giant shoe lace in this get up but that’s okay. Sometimes being bold and standing out in the crowd isn’t always a bad thing. Lately I have been having a blast experimenting with pattern while still keeping my minimalist edge. Stripes in every form have been my “go to” lately, from dresses to tops to even denim: I can’t get enough of it.

I get a lot of my inspiration from We Wore What. Danielle has a way of making minimal outfitting a bit more fashion forward. She’s my current fashion icon when it comes to everyday street style. I think her biggest secret is confidence which is something that I have to work on daily. You’re not human if you no longer have any insecurities, am I right ladies?

What pattern or piece of clothing makes you feel confident?
