Sweater Sweetness

IMG_1170 IMG_1195 IMG_1181 IMG_1203 IMG_1182 IMG_1194

Every year I go a little overboard with the sweater purchases. Every place that I’ve lived has had harsh winters so you can’t blame me for wanting to be a little prepared. I find so much comfort and peace in snuggling up with a good pullover, don’t you? I’ve owned every kind of sweater from fuzzy pink ones to ugly Christmas ones and sometimes it’s just nice to strip down the nonsense and wear a simple cream pullover. Not only is cream chic but it goes with absolutely everything. I can’t think of one tiny thing that this particular sweater doesn’t go with and that’s how you know that you made a good purchase.

Another recent clothing item in my closet that I just can’t stop gushing over is this fun, chevron printed sweater skirt. Teal and a minimal chevron print in one? Sign me up! This pull-on pencil skirt has been my go to piece and preferred silhouette as of lately. I really can’t stop styling different ways to wear them. Pencil skirts have just been my current fashion craving. Heck, I have more on their way in the mail.

Pumpkin Patch

IMG_1138 IMG_1129 IMG_1166_Fotor_Collage IMG_1134 IMG_1140 IMG_1143

I had no idea I would ever be the type to get excited to go to the pumpkin patch. I’ve been dying to go to one since the beginning of October but due to a busy schedule, no sleep, and the sun going down at 5:30pm, I just haven’t been able to. Wyatt and I finally got a day off together since we went to New York in August and we were so thrilled to spend it at a pumpkin patch. We felt like such outcasts because everyone was there with their little families. Wyatt and I have our own little family, just me and him, and we’re happy. We are already planning on having a bigger family of our own very soon so seeing all the nuggets there at the patch was a reminder of what we might possibly have next October and… WE CAN’T WAIT!

Our first day off together began with a short and sweet doctors appointment for me that went very well. Afterwards, we went to our favorite breakfast spot called “Snooze” where I got the best thing on their menu: a breakfast burrito. Mmm. So good. We came straight home and watched a few episodes of our latest addiction, “Sons of Anarchy.” I know, I was surprised just as much as you probably are, but we’re actually liking it so far. I doubt it will be as good as Breaking Bad though. After the show, we took a nap because what is October without a little mid-day nap? Then we got dressed and ready to head to the pumpkin patch! The rest of our evening was spent relaxing in our pj’s (which is my all time favorite thing to do) and eating junk food and watching more television. I can only pray that we continue to have more relaxing days off together. It’s so nice to just recharge with our best friend, isn’t it?

Chunky Sweater Weather

IMG_1092 IMG_1114 IMG_1080 IMG_1079 IMG_1097 IMG_1116Could it be? Could it be that it’s officially that time of chunky sweater weather, hot chocolate and pumpkin pie? YES IT IS. We wait all year long for these cozy moments and in an instant they’re gone. Christmas is just two months from today and that’s just hard for me to take in. I barely had a chance to soak in the beautiful fall trees. It’s like they were here for a weekend and left. Regardless of how fast Fall goes, I’ll be soaking it in, every chilly breath at a time. It’s time to get cozy and to get comfy because that’s the name of the game when it comes to outfitting in Autumn. I do not accept anything less or more as long as I am comfortable because there is nothing worse than being un-comfy and cold. NOTHING.

Alexa Chung Inspired

IMG_1056 IMG_1058 IMG_1065 IMG_1070 IMG_1053 IMG_1050Alexa Chung is not only a modern day muse but one of my biggest fashion inspirations. Along with Miroslava Duma, We Wore What and many many others, Alexa Chung is on the list of influencers for us fashion bloggers. There are many qualities and talents that she possesses but the most recent is becoming a fashion designer. She’s collaborated with Anthropologie before and each time I’m blown away by the structure and 70’s chic design. She’s famous for center buttons and bringing back denim.

So here I am sporting my Alexa Chung inspired denim shirtdress for nearly half the price. I love it when that happens. The website paired these rust colored suede booties with it and I couldn’t resist. Why just buy the dress when you can buy the whole package. Both are now staples in my wardrobe and they could also be staples in yours! Below are the links to purchase your very own Alexa Chung for less.

Pencil Skirt Turned Casual

IMG_0875 IMG_0888 IMG_0884 IMG_0876 IMG_0889Us girls would dream of the day that someone would come out with a pencil skirt that didn’t make us feel self conscious. Well, I’m here to tell you that the day has finally arrived. Never in my life did I think that I would love my body in a tight pencil skirt but here I am and I’m loving every inch of it. I don’t really know the magic behind this skirt and why it feels like butter on your bum. It probably has to do with fact the material is so thick and it won’t let your junk lose it’s cool for one second.

I wanted to show my readers an easy way on styling a skirt like this when wanting to feel casual. Not every pencil skirt is meant to be worn in just the office my friends. Pencil skirts can have fun too. My classic v-neck tee has come in handy a lot lately when dressing something down. It takes the edge off my fancier items and turns them into an everyday look. I decided to add my bold necklace too keep things interesting but a classic gold long necklace will do use fine.
