♥Let’s start off with my favorite product from Glo Minerals: The Luxe Liquid Bright Concealer.

I am huge a advocate of concealing. I think I’ve tried every under eye concealer that’s ever been made. Not only must I find a concealer that gets rid of my dark circles (I’m an insomniac) but I also need a product that brightens up my complexion.

My First Impression: The formula is very high coverage. I’m surprised, but thankful, that it never creased under my eyes considering how thick it was. You only need the smallest, and I mean SMALLEST, amount. A little of Liquid Bright Concealer goes a very long way and I love that. I mix both of the colors, high beam & brighten, to get my perfect highlight shade. Even though the formula is thicker than most concealers, it looks incredibly natural and nothing beats that.

The Facts: A lightweight, corrective concealer pen that provides impeccable coverage while bringing light and brightness to the complexion.

Glo Minerals Blush: Papaya

Blush is everything. A little bit of blush on the apples of your cheeks adds a touch feminine to your entire look no matter what you’re wearing. Blush is one of my all time favorite steps of my makeup routine. No girl should ever have to live without blush.

My First Impression: HOLY MOLY! Was this blush pigmented. One tap of this and you’re ready to look naturally flushed. I have been searching and searching for my “everyday” shade. This particular shade is the perfect combination of cool and warm tones. I don’t think I will ever go back to another color. I am obsessed.

Facts: High-pigment mineral makeup blush for expert color, shading and highlighting.

  • Apply glo minerals Blush to the apples of the cheeks blending upward along the cheek bone.

  • Exclusive antioxidant blend of vitamins A, C, E and green tea extract

Glo Minerals Luxe Liquid Foundation: Porcelain

I have an on going struggle with foundation. I can’t seem to find one that fits all my skincare needs. I have combination skin but it’s more on the oily side. I’ve gotten over the high coverage foundation phase because my skin has cleared up a lot and I want to show it off.

My First Impression: Another product where a little goes a long way. I only needed half of a pump of this and it seamlessly covered my entire face and left me looking flawless, yet natural. I was blown away at how easily it blended. I am very pleased with the formula. My facial shine did peak through after a few hours, but personally, I’m not totally against it. I like a little bit of natural oil because looking completely matte is so last year. Luxe Liquid Foundation is an A+ in my book.

Facts: Harness the light-refracting power of diamonds to bend light for a smooth, ageless complexion.

  • Formulated with light-diffusing diamond powder

  • Specialized moisturizing agents to deliver a flawless, youthful radiance

  • Sheer to full coverage that is easily buildable

  • Great for all skin types except excessively oily

  • Delivers a semi-dewy finish

  • Broad spectrum UV protection

Luxe Foundation Brush

My First Impression: I’ve invested in a lot of high-end brushes. I regret buying them all because this brush takes the cake. It made blending my foundation an absolute breeze. It’s so soft. Like a cloud really. The Luxe Liquid Foundation and this brush was a match made in heaven. Bravo.

Facts: This flat top kabuki is the perfect applicator for Luxe Liquid Foundation SPF 15.

  • the synthetic hair only picks up the perfect amount of product meaning nothing goes to waste

  • Achieve full coverage and a smooth, even application with a soft focus finish.

Glo Minerals Brow Gel: Clear

How could I blog about makeup and not mention my brows? Duh. I’m sure most of you big brow lovers appreciate a good brow gel.

My First Impression: Nothing much to say except that the job was done. This gel lifted my brows and they stayed up the entire day which ultimately lifted my entire face and that’s all I ask for in a brow gel.

Facts: A water-based formulation enriched with antioxidants, glominerals brow gel provides brow-sculpting control in tinted or clear.

Glo Minerals Redness Relief Powder

My First Impression: My sensitive skin is prone to redness. Falling in love with this product was so easy to do because it’s so light weight. I use this powder to set my under eyes and the rest of my face for a natural and oil-free look.

Facts: Visibly reduce skin’s surface redness with soothing ingredients like Honey Suckle, Zinc Oxide and Caffeine. Redness Relief Powder is ideal for even the most sensitive skin.

  • Formulated with glominerals’ exclusive blend of antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, E and green tea

  • Wear alone, under or over foundation and re-apply throughout the day as needed.

Glo Mineral Lipstick: Spark, Vixen and Willow

My First Impression: Alright, alright. It’s not a secret that I’m a lipstick girl. I refuse to go nude. The brighter and bolder the lip, the better. I’m normally a big fan of matte lipsticks. I just prefer the look on me a lot better. These lipsticks have slight sheen to them which, honestly, is outside my comfort zone. Besides the glossy factor, they felt amazing on my lips. Having dry lips is a struggle of mine but these bad boys kept my lips moisturized the entire day. If I’m being honest…the smell of these lipsticks wasn’t my favorite. It has that “no smell” smell. It’s doesn’t linger or anything but if that’s the only flaw in this entire post than I’d say that’s pretty good.

Facts: Moisturizing lipstick that provides vibrant, long-lasting color and remarkable wearability.

  • Fortified with the exclusive glominerals antioxidant blend of Vitamins A, C, E and Green Tea Extract.

Overall Review of Glo Minerals: This is my first time trying any mineral base makeup product. Everyone and they mother has told me to try it and I never listened. I’ve been using this makeup line for awhile now. My skin has had time to react to it and I’d say that my skin has never looked or felt better. I really don’t know where this company has been my whole life. I would strongly recommend Glo Minerals to anyone and everyone. Whether you’re 16 or 85, I suggest you try it because you won’t regret it.

Be Bold, Bejeweled

IMG_1709 IMG_1719 IMG_1726 IMG_1734Being bold and brave when choosing your outfit of the day can be hard. What will people think of you? My answer to that question is I really don’t give a hoot. I’ve said this before but I dress based on my mood not on other peoples opinion of me. If I’m wearing a t-shirt and jeans that just means I’d much rather be sitting at home on the couch curled up with my hot cheetos. If I’m wearing a maxi skirt, I’m in the mood to be extra girly…lets go shopping. If I’m wearing sweats, back away and I mean far far away because I’m about to have a mental breakdown. But If I’m dressed like I am in this post, I’m ready to take on the world. Nothing says world denomination like some black leather pants and a neoprene boxy top.

I don’t feel like dressing up or doing anything actually when the weather is dark and cloudy. I get extremely lethargic when I go long periods without seeing the sun. I don’t know if I’m the only one but my happy/optimistic mood decreases when winter time approaches. If I could control the weather I would keep it 70 degrees and the sun shining all year around. But that’s not the case. I get extremely worried when this time of year rolls around because I see more sad days than I do happy days. I should seriously consider moving to California. Let’s take a day like today for example. It’s cold and rainy, I see no sign of life outside.. ok that’s dramatic but it’s icky and I’m not a fan. I haven’t left my bed all day because of it. Netflix might have been a factor to that too but whatever. Bad weather keeps me inside all day.

Silver lining: I have more time to style some future outfits, read some books, and blog. Gosh…working for a fashion magazine sounds so good right now. Anywhere hiring? Vogue? Marie Claire? I’m kidding…no I’m not.

Xoxo,

Karissa

Movie Date Night Outfits

IMG_2367 IMG_2372 IMG_2377 IMG_2381 IMG_2407IMG_2388IMG_2395Nothing is better than seeing a movie with your partner in crime. It’s Wyatt and I’s absolutely favorite thing to do on a Friday Night. We sometimes get dressed up, go out to a nice restaurant, and watch a good flick. We decided on “Fury” because it was the only movie we wouldn’t be late to. We are ALWAYS running to late to movies. I don’t know how we manage to do it every single time but we do. Fury was actually really good. I’ll watch anything that Shia LaBeouf is in. He’s my number one forever.

Our outfits: No matter the agenda, on date night we have to be comfortable. High waisted pants and a crop top for me and a baseball 3/4 sleeve tee for Wyatt. Getting ready for date night is a huge part of date night. And it’s probably one of my favorite parts too. I’ve tried so hard to get Wyatt out of his comfort zone and to wear other things but it’s NOT happening. If he’s comfortable in jeans and tee (more like workout clothes) every single day, than I’ll just have to deal with it. One of the hardest things for a fashion blogger is to dress her boyfriend. They like what they like and there’s no changing that. Trust me, I’ve tried.  I have to pick my battles with this one.

You Are My Sunshine

IMG_2268 IMG_2274 IMG_2282 IMG_2311 IMG_2320 IMG_2322 IMG_2324 IMG_2330“… my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey.” The best possible thing for me to do when I’m feeling down is to dress like I’m sunshine. I went a straight week feeling sorry for myself. I wore the same t-shirt and leggings for a good five days. I was feeling insecure, down, and unworthy. WHY.WHY.WHY do I do that to myself? I know I can’t be the only one. Sometimes being a slob, watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. re-runs, and eating endless amounts of chocolate is all a girl really needs. After I was done being annoying, I decided to brush myself off, tell myself that I’m enough, put on these pants, and WA-LA… I was born again. I need my sad days. But the best way to get over those sad days is put on some bright yellow pants. Seriously, who needs medication when these bad boys did the trick.

At my job, I see way too many insecure women. It breaks my heart. I just want to scream at them as say “ARE YOU SERIOUS! YOU ARE BREATHTAKING!” I know we all have those insecurities. I have plenty. But we can’t let those small, insignificant details define us. Never let them break you. I’m just 20. I still have a lot of growing up to do and a lot of things about myself that I just need to accept. Before you begin to feel sorry for yourself, run to your closet, snuggle with your favorite item of clothing (your sunshine) and be thankful. Life is a WAY too short to not feel beautiful every singe day.

Small town girl with big city dreams.

IMG_1855IMG_1823 IMG_1828

^My face when my photographer (aka boyfriend) farted.
IMG_1837 IMG_1841IMG_1865 IMG_1862Am I the only one that feels like this outfit belongs to a girl from Oklahoma? A girl who’s just out and about shopping her favorite local boutiques and picking up peaches at the Farmers Market on her way home that’s surrounded by a white picket fence and big red barn in the backyard? No? Okay, scratch that. But I did feel like such a country meets city girl in this outfit. There are hints of both lifestyles in this outfit. The metallic sweater reminds me of the bright city lights while the boots take me back to that open dirt road.

I will never regret growing up in a small town. I complained about it for a good 18 years but I’m so grateful my parents raised me in a itsy bitsy tiny town in New Mexico. What I miss most about that little town was knowing that there wasn’t such a rush to get places. People had manners. People cared only about the simple things. Life was about going to the high school football game on a Thursday night, or hanging out at the Sonic Drive thru. Gosh, do I miss those simple days.I do not regret the decision moving to a big city though. I’ve taken everything that my parents and good ole’ Farmington New Mexico has taught me and applied it to my life here in Denver. I’m happy and a little bit proud of myself to say that I’ve remained the humble, kind, and respectful person that my parents raised me to be. Sorry to say but no city, no state, no job, no amount of money or no amount of friends can change me. I will always remain little old me, that small town girl who’s chasing her big city dreams.

Xoxo,

Karissa
