Chevron Stripes & Denim

IMG_9616 IMG_9612 IMG_9603 IMG_9621 IMG_9611 IMG_9606We all know the phenomenon that is chevron stripes. All of us own something chevron printed whether it be wallpaper, a blanket, or t-shirt: Everyone and their mother knows and loves chevron. I do have to admit that I wish chevron would just go away. It’s become cheesy and quite lame to be honest. I typically want to burn all things chevron printed but this weird and over dramatic sensation briefly went away when I saw this peachy, shiny top. I think it’s a classier chevron print because it’s so subtle, yet sparkles in the summer sun. I love the cut of this top but what I love more is the fact that it’s laced with reflective material. I really do appreciate a short top like this one paired with my fav high waisted denim on a casual night out with friends. I had to add my all time favorite accessories to complete the look as well!

Oh So Delightful

IMG_9521 IMG_9487 IMG_9493 IMG_9522 IMG_9499 IMG_9523 IMG_9511I just need to mention how long my hair is right now! It didn’t grow fast by any means, heck it’s been almost a year since I chopped it off but I’m so pleased at the length that’s its at right now. It’s at that “fashion bob” stage and I think that’s where I like it best. I’ve done the short and the long version and this is by far the most maintainable and “me” cut. My hair has never been so full and healthy and I owe all that to my talented hairstylist, my mother. She takes such good care of my hair and never allows me to damaged it. Never will I ever go lighter again because it took literally years after I did the infamous ombré thing to my hair. I’ll stick with the chocolate brown hair-do for as long as possible. I would love to be a redhead tho. Maybe in a another lifetime right?

Okay enough about hair. Let’s talk fashion, I mean that’s why you’re here right? I actually don’t have much to say besides the fact that I’m absolutely obsessed with this off the shoulder top and I wish I could wear it every single day of my life. This outfit might just be my “go to” summer outfit when I’m just feeling fun and casual. I will definitely take this outfit to a Rockies game and fun backyard barbecue. Be prepared to see this top in the near future. I just love it so much because it’s oh so delightful.

The Confetti Dress

IMG_9591 IMG_9583 IMG_9586 IMG_9581 IMG_9556I call this my confetti dress because it looks like a party just threw up all over it. The very moment I laid my eyes on this dress I knew I had found my summer love. The muted pastel polka dots creates such a “I love summer” kind of vibe without being too overwhelming. This is that kind of dress where people will continue to stop, stare and swoon even if you feel like it’s magic has worn off. I, unfortunately, feel like an outfit loses it’s purpose after one go around. Sometimes, I cannot wear an outfit twice, (well I can but I choose not to) because I believe it loses some sort of “magic” that it holds only once or twice of wear. It sounds very foolish but being a fashion blogger, I’m always looking for more. What’s new? What’s in-style? Another positive about being the fashion lover that I am is finding more and more ways to sustain that magic for as long possible. My favorite thing to do, when I’m bored, is reinvent my wardrobe. I love taking oldies but goodies and making them feel like new by adding a trendy piece. That’s a fashionista’s biggest secret. You will see this dress again, in a different form I’m sure. I love wearing things more than twice as long as I make it unique every single time, whether I change up an accessory or shoe, the magic will never stop.

Just like everything else in fashion AND in life, the magic is only there if you allow it to be.

Casual Holiday Outfit

IMG_9653 IMG_9652 IMG_9661 IMG_9646 IMG_9644 IMG_9659 IMG_9647With Independence Day coming up, I wanted to show my excitement and support but in the most understated and minimal kind of way. A lot of people love to dress up in the obvious classic red, white and blue (me being one of the them) but this year I decided to go for a more laid-back kind of look. Nothing says “I’m ready for hot dogs, barbecue, summer drinks and back yard chillin” like boyfriend jeans and a midi top. Am I right? Every year around the 4th of July, I usually go for the obvious choice of a bright red dress or stripes from head to toe but since I’ll be spending this holiday moving into my new place (Yes, I’m moving again. I cannot stay in one place.) I’d much rather be comfortable in my converse than all dressed up and no where to go. I’m very excited to be spending my holiday with my one and only, watching the fireworks on our rooftop and just enjoying each other’s company, like always.

Everyone have a fabulous and safe 4th of July.

That 70’s Skirt

IMG_9526 IMG_9534 IMG_9543 IMG_9546 IMG_9541 IMG_9533 IMG_9527This post is for those minimal but trendy ladies out there. I always love adding easy, breezy outfits to my blog because it’s very likely that you own similar pieces in your own closets. I’m sure you have a grey crop top and denim skirt… and if you don’t, you should because they are all the rage right now. The 70’s styled denim skirt is so popular at the moment, every store has recently came out with their own versions of it. I also see them every single time I check my Instagram. I feel like I belong on a modern day version of “That 70’s Show.”

One thing I do recommend if you choose to be inspired by this outfit post is to LEAVE THE LEATHER JACKET AT HOME. It was 80 something degrees outside and I was close to having a heat stroke while taking these pictures. I just wanted the jacket for dramatic effect but I nearly died. (Exaggeration is my specialty, can you tell?)

Have a fabulous day! See you next time!
