Hello my sweet friends, my dedicated readers…my support team. I have to admit this blog post comes to you a little bittersweet. Bitter because to hasn’t been the best week for me and I’ll tell you why. Sweet because this day of apple-picking was one of the best days I’ve had since moving to New York City and I am so happy we did it.

Some of you might be aware that Wyatt and I had a little bit of a rough start in our new city. Numerous things took away from our happiness and crushed our plans like our vehicle being broken into, my job transfer falling through, losing friends who I thought I would never lose and so much more. I thought things were slowly looking up until just yesterday a small job I had that was keeping me busy decided that they no longer needed me. It ended on great terms but still disappointing nonetheless.

I feel like I can’t catch a break. It’s like the universe is doing everything in it’s power to bring me down and I’m just over here saying “Stop picking on me!” My depression has officially taken over. I spend my days in bed watching Netflix and cuddling with Finley. This is my life. I know it will get better but I’m just curious when exactly that will be. Ya know? The day I found out I was let go of my job, I let myself cry it out for a moment or two and then I got up from the couch and said “Dammit! I will not let myself ruin another day! We’re going Apple-picking.” Wyatt was the main influence behind this sudden rush of motivation. He’s been so amazing, so patient, so gentle and kind during this bumpy phase in our lives. I truly cannot even fathom what I would do without him. He’s my rock day in and day out. I’m one lucky girl.

We spent this special day driving to who-knows-where New York, dipping in and out of New Jersey. The Autumn leaves were incredible and made the entire drive a breeze. Once we finally got to the Apple Orchard we became little kids again, running through the aisles and climbing up apple trees. I wish we could relive this day over and over. I’m so blessed in so many ways and things can only go up when you feel like you’re at rock bottom. I hope this life in NYC becomes all that I’ve ever wished it to be. I want to leave this city someday loving it and loving the memories it gave me…not hating it and itching to get out.

Good vibes, please come my way.

An Autumn Story

Rich magentas and deep olive greens go hand in hand to create the perfect Autumn story. We shot these pictures after a freezing rainstorm in New York City that we thought would never end. Once the sun finally came out, we were relieved to see the sky again. It was the perfect sunset moment that we had to capture. I’m in love with the way theses photos turned out regardless of the hard hitting wind and cold temperatures. It helps to have a hottie husband behind the camera.

Bomber Season

img_5622 img_5627 img_56333 img_5617 img_5618It’s bomber season y’all. The leaves are changing, the temperature is plummeting and it’s time to focus on those layering pieces that keep you chic and warm. I’ve recently been loving this puffy bomber trend going around. Not that I need more jackets in my wardrobe but I’m happy to participate nonetheless. I love the fierceness of this jacket that holds just a touch girly-ness. It gives a little BOOM-POW to girly girl in all of us!

Shimma Shimma

With metallic being all the rage this season, there’s no need to save your flashy pieces for after dark. Bring your shimmer and shine out into the daylight for everyone to see. This reflective, multicolored top caught the attention of many. If you’re goal is to stop traffic, I think this trend is for you. Whether it’s silver or gold accents you prefer, you can count on rocking this trend all through the holiday season. It’s almost October ladies. Go get you some SHIMMA-SHIMMA!

My Zumba Outfit

img_5267 img_52880 img_5270 img_5297 img_5288 img_53111img_5273

Coming from a girl that loved being active and danced her whole life, it’s quite ironic that fitness is no longer a part of my daily, weekly or (embarrassingly) monthly routine. I’m unmotivated. I’d like to think my lack of motivation comes from not being able to find a fitness program that suits me. I’m on the hunt for a great dance company/studio in the NYC area if anyone knows any. I would love to take some barre classes for toning but I’m more interested in some freestyle, hip-hop based dance classes where I can get dowwwn, if you know what I mean. In the meantime I love staying active and participating in some Zumba every now and then. It releases endorphins and all the negative energy while still having a blast. Working out shouldn’t be so serious. I highly recommend trying it ladies if you haven’t.

I can’t say goodbye without mentioning how absolutely adorable this work out set it is. I’m so in love with the soft blue shade, detailing and the material…oh my.

The best workout gear that will actually make you want to workout.

P.S. My sweet Finley was very eager to be in these photos and I’m so happy we decided to let him join us. He’s such a natural! Maybe I should sign him up for some doggie modeling. Wink wink.
