Pencil Skirt Turned Casual

IMG_0875 IMG_0888 IMG_0884 IMG_0876 IMG_0889Us girls would dream of the day that someone would come out with a pencil skirt that didn’t make us feel self conscious. Well, I’m here to tell you that the day has finally arrived. Never in my life did I think that I would love my body in a tight pencil skirt but here I am and I’m loving every inch of it. I don’t really know the magic behind this skirt and why it feels like butter on your bum. It probably has to do with fact the material is so thick and it won’t let your junk lose it’s cool for one second.

I wanted to show my readers an easy way on styling a skirt like this when wanting to feel casual. Not every pencil skirt is meant to be worn in just the office my friends. Pencil skirts can have fun too. My classic v-neck tee has come in handy a lot lately when dressing something down. It takes the edge off my fancier items and turns them into an everyday look. I decided to add my bold necklace too keep things interesting but a classic gold long necklace will do use fine.

October Green

IMG_0871 IMG_0870 IMG_0849 IMG_0869 IMG_0854Oh, I love how versatile the color moss green is. I have more green in my closet than the average fashion lover and I’m sure of it. My favorite colors this past year have been moss green and burnt orange if you haven’t been able to tell already. I had no idea I would fall in love with this turtleneck as much I have. I’ve worn it every week since I purchased it because it’s just so easy to throw on and feel chic. More importantly it’s easy to dress up or down. I really wish it came in every single color ever made because I would financially support that decision.

I know it may be October and officially fall time but I’m just not ready to bust out my boots. It’s still too warm outside to put my feet in a sauna okay? I decided to keep things casual and airy with my favorite leopard espadrilles.

Pinstripe Jumpsuit

IMG_0826 IMG_0829 IMG_0809 IMG_0840 IMG_0822I recently became a huge fan wide leg jumpsuits. You will not understand the comfort until you try one on for yourself. I cannot get enough of jumpsuits but I’m sure you already knew that if you’ve been a fan of my blog for awhile. I think the wide leg version just stole my heart. I’ve been eyeing this pinstripe beauty for awhile now. I saw my exact size at the Anthropologie in Rockefeller Center and I panicked because I never thought I would be so lucky. I can easily carry this suit into the colder months with a long sleeve underneath or belted with a cardigan.

If you’re loving this statement piece almost as much as I do, you’re in luck. This guy just went on sale! Grab your size before they run out!

Shades Of Grey

IMG_0716 2 IMG_0721 IMG_0707 IMG_0723 IMG_0718 2 IMG_0724 IMG_0717 2I love me some shades of grey. Light grey, dark grey and well, I think that’s all the grey I can think of at the moment. I’ve been searching for the right pair of distressed, mid-rise grey jeans. It’s been a serious struggle but while I was in New York I stumbled across the perfect pair. They have the right amount of distressed and they’re just the right shade of grey. They may be new to my distressed denim collection but I love finding more and more ways to style them. For some reason I just love to add even more grey. Neutral looks are so chic and quite easy to pull off. I always try and add a touch of gold with a statement accessory and keep things elevated with my forever favorite heels.

I’m keeping this post short and sweet because I’m back in my home town spending some quality time with my favorites and my mom just made homemade chocolate chip cookies and I have to eat a few before my brother and dad get to them.

Carrie Bradshaw’s Apartment

IMG_0653IMG_0663 IMG_0649 IMG_0673On our last day in the city, there was just one final destination on my to do list: Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment. We came, we saw…we took blog pictures. I feel so complete inside knowing that I visited the sight where my queen lived. Sex & The City has been one of my favorite shows for as long as I can remember. I may not be intrigued by the scandalous side of the show but the fashion and friendships? Ya, I’m all about that. The street, the steps, the window…it was everything I had imagined it to be. Everything was so picture perfect and I’m so happy that I had the chance to go there. Just around the corner was a crepe shop and I was not about to pass up a New York crepe. It was one of the most delicious strawberry nutella crepes I have ever tasted. Right after our short but sweet trip to Carrie’s place and the Crepe shop I went to the Anthropologie in Chelsea Market, obviously. I didn’t expect the Chelsea Market to be what it was. It’s underground cafe’s, shops and restaurants were so unique. I didn’t want to leave! I cannot wait to go back to really explore the Chelsea Market and all of it’s goodness.
