Evergreen

I’m forever an evergreen girl.

I always love the aroma of pine when I walk into a cozy home during Christmas time. It soothes my soul. This year we got a real tree for our very first tree together and it’s perfection. I decided to blend in with the pine by wearing my favorite dark green, blended wool dress by Sparrow while Christmas tree shopping. I purchased last years sleeveless teal version and couldn’t resist this years version. I’m not the biggest fan of wool but I’ll wear this dress forever and ever. I’ll also purchase anything with three-quarter sleeves. I was reading the reviews on this dress online and noticed a comment that this dress is amazing for curvier girls. I think what I love about the style of this dress more than anything is that it looks great on every kind of figure. It’s kind of amazing paired with my all time favorite fur collar and of, course, my UGGS.

Oh, UGGS. I call them my happy place because they’re just that…happy.

What The Fuzz?

IMG_1567 IMG_1591-2 IMG_1570 IMG_1563 IMG_1588-2 IMG_1587-2

Happy Thursday friends!

My current bullet proof outfitting go-to has been pairing a mini skirt with some textured or printed leggings. It’s school girl inspired. It’s a simple way to stay warm and mix and match with all of my favorite skirts at the same time. 2015 has been the year of skirts for me. I’m stocked up to the max with nearly every single color imagined and I don’t have to feel guilty about it because skirts are absolutely an all year around kind of thing. I love this out in particular because it’s festive without being too obvious. This fuzzy top has quickly become one of my holiday favorite tees. It really elevates anything you pair with it and it’s super feminine which you all know I love femme. I am femme. My existence is all things femme.

Enough about the outfit. Let’s talk life. I’m currently bundled up on the couch, watching a little Big Bang Theory and fascinating over our very first Christmas tree together. I feel so happy and thankful  this holiday season but there’s just one thing that’s been on my mind more than usual: A baby. I was born to be a mother. I’ve had the urge to start a family since I was young, well young-ER. I feel like it’s my destiny and I can’t be whole without it. I love celebrating the seasons with Wyatt but I really can’t another second until our family of two becomes a family of three. I’m conflicted because I do want to be married before we start a family but the wedding of my dreams is taking longer than I thought to plan. We’re tempted to elope and start our family but we really can’t decided. It’s been bumming me out. All of my childhood friends have recently become mothers and even though I’m so very happy for them, I’m still so sad. I want to be a mommy too.

Blush

IMG_1330 IMG_1342 IMG_1329 IMG_1338 IMG_1334

Hello everyone!

It’s so nice to be sitting here, typing (talking) to you. I don’t prioritize enough time to blog and really connect with you all. I guess that’s what happens when you get a big girl job and start making big girl money huh? Hehe. There’s not enough hours in the day or days in the week to get all of the stuff that I want done AND have a healthy sleep schedule. It’s just not possible for me. I can’t even plan a wedding let alone blog. I hope you guys understand. In the meantime, you can always stay updated and connected with me on my Instagram (@karissamariie) and Snapchat(@karissamariiee).

Let’s stay focused and get back to the beautiful blush colored top in these photos. I don’t own much pink in my closet. I honestly cannot think of ONE true pink item, however, I do love a good peach toned pink. I could rock that all day everyday. I really love the contrast of it with my dark hair. I’ve been told it works really well with my skin tone! So, I’m quite happy about that. And we all know I’m a huge fan of butterfly sleeves. So bouncy. I love it.

I’m going to sign off for now. We’re headed out the door to watch a late night movie. My favorite.

With love,

Sweater Sweetness

IMG_1170 IMG_1195 IMG_1181 IMG_1203 IMG_1182 IMG_1194

Every year I go a little overboard with the sweater purchases. Every place that I’ve lived has had harsh winters so you can’t blame me for wanting to be a little prepared. I find so much comfort and peace in snuggling up with a good pullover, don’t you? I’ve owned every kind of sweater from fuzzy pink ones to ugly Christmas ones and sometimes it’s just nice to strip down the nonsense and wear a simple cream pullover. Not only is cream chic but it goes with absolutely everything. I can’t think of one tiny thing that this particular sweater doesn’t go with and that’s how you know that you made a good purchase.

Another recent clothing item in my closet that I just can’t stop gushing over is this fun, chevron printed sweater skirt. Teal and a minimal chevron print in one? Sign me up! This pull-on pencil skirt has been my go to piece and preferred silhouette as of lately. I really can’t stop styling different ways to wear them. Pencil skirts have just been my current fashion craving. Heck, I have more on their way in the mail.

Pencil Skirt Turned Casual

IMG_0875 IMG_0888 IMG_0884 IMG_0876 IMG_0889Us girls would dream of the day that someone would come out with a pencil skirt that didn’t make us feel self conscious. Well, I’m here to tell you that the day has finally arrived. Never in my life did I think that I would love my body in a tight pencil skirt but here I am and I’m loving every inch of it. I don’t really know the magic behind this skirt and why it feels like butter on your bum. It probably has to do with fact the material is so thick and it won’t let your junk lose it’s cool for one second.

I wanted to show my readers an easy way on styling a skirt like this when wanting to feel casual. Not every pencil skirt is meant to be worn in just the office my friends. Pencil skirts can have fun too. My classic v-neck tee has come in handy a lot lately when dressing something down. It takes the edge off my fancier items and turns them into an everyday look. I decided to add my bold necklace too keep things interesting but a classic gold long necklace will do use fine.
