My husband. My Finley. My family back home in New Mexico. My marriage. My friends. My health. My faith. I have so many things to be thankful for, regardless of the struggles I’ve faced. I love this time of the year because we’re reminded on what really matters in this life. It’s about love and its about laughter. Wyatt and I have made a lot of sacrifices since moving to NYC and I’ve learned that it’s not the material things that matter. It’s our family that brings me that unimaginable love and satisfaction. It’s Finley sleeping on my chest. It’s walks with Wyatt in Central Park. Those little things are what make my life worth living. I’m so grateful, unexplainably grateful, for my life.

I’m also thankful for each one my readers, for encouraging me, supporting me and loving me. You guys are the best. Happy Thanksgiving sweet friends. I hope you enjoy every moment of it. Wyatt and I will be attending Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning and then spending the rest of the day munching and napping- just the two of us…and Finley.

Ready For The Holidays

img_61702 img_6860 collage_fotor img_6750 img_61827 img_6838 img_61727

Thanksgiving is around the corner. Christmas is quickly approaching. It’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to wear to all those special family gatherings, work parties and other sweet holiday celebrations. This is such a magical time of the year. Not only do you want to show up for it, you want to show up looking and feeling radiant! Your outfit should be dazzling, daring and BRILLIANT! This colorful and festive dress will most definitely be worn to my husbands work holiday party and beyond. I think this flashy little number can be worn outside the holiday season as well with its chic striped print and off the shoulder detail. I mean it. It was love at first sight. I also added this statement lip shaped clutch for a touch of merry-merry red.

Oh holiday season. I am ready for you. New York City is such a wonderful place to be this time of year. I can’t wait.

A Magical Day In Central Park

img_6593 img_6577 img_6652 collage_fotor img_6580 img_61637

The look on Finley’s face the moment his feet touched down in Central Park was the most magical thing I’ve seen all season. Finley, just shy of 6 months, has never seen or felt Fall before. All of his senses are stimulated and he suddenly has the energy of a kid after eating a cupcake. Finley started running around circles, jumping up and down like a bunny and rolling around in the fallen leaves. Seeing this inner puppy come out like that almost brought me to tears. He has such a sweet soul and seeing him that happy made my entire year. I can’t wait for all the first’s I get to experience with him. He’s my best friend.

Well folks, Fall is officially in the air…the crisp-crisp air. My outfits are quickly overshadowed by my need to stay warm. My jackets and coats are just about all I can create when the weather is constricting. That’s my least favorite part about the cold climate. Not being able to show off my clothes! I just recently snagged this statement denim coat at Zara. It’s so urban chic and I get so many compliments on the subway. Not to mention it’s surprisingly warm with bits and pieces lined with a thick fleece material. It was Finley approved.

Hello November

Hello November!

I can’t believe how fast this year is coming to an end. I’m looking forward to the Holidays this year because it will be Wyatt and I’s first Thanksgiving and Christmas together as a married couple! We’re a little bummed we didn’t get to dress up for Halloween this year. We never really get into Halloween like most do. I’m hoping next year we can make up for it. Costume or not, we still had a blast! We went to Heidi Klum’s 17th Annual Halloween Party in The Village. It was so epic seeing so many celebrities. I’m hoping to stumble across some pictures of Wyatt and I in the background of the paparazzi photos. Hehe.

Rainy Days

img_15999 img_16011 img_5942 img_5985 img_16007

How do you spend your rainy days?

I love everything even more on a rainy New York day. I love that I can be melancholy and I would be blending in. I love that I wouldn’t have to feel guilty about wanting to stay in bed, watch Gilmore Girls and sip on my hot chocolate all day long. That’s exactly what I do on a rainy day. Nothing. Sometimes I feel so bad about not wanting to do anything or to be with anyone when my mood matches the sky but I’ve discovered that it’s healthy to feed my depression to a certain degree. It’s okay to let my soul recharge and rest. It’s good to lose myself in a movie or a book or even a dream. The world is tough and I feel safe in my home, cuddling with my puppy and my husband. I’m sure this funk that I’m in will pass, it usually does but I’m taking every advantage of this fall weather to…. Just be.

Depressed or not, everyone deserves a break from everyday life.
