Blogger Life

img_5558 img_5541 img_5576 img_5554 img_5539In the midst of expanding my blogging career as well as a career outside of blogging, I’m juggling many other things like:

1.)Being a wife. Although rewarding and beautiful, it’s not an easy task.

2.)Being a fur mama. (Just kidding, this one is the best responsibility filled with kisses and games of fetch.)

3.) Living in New York. They weren’t kidding when they said you have HUSTLE. I’ve taken on many miscellaneous sides jobs and participated in many money making apps just to pay the rent. New York is not for the weak.

4.)Struggling with my mental illness. (Ew, I’m not the biggest fan of the word “illness” but however you would like to phrase it, depression and anxiety is a pain.) I’ve been in between medications amongst other health related set backs that have really taken a toll on my happiness as well as my overall experience in New York. Everyday is a struggle, whether it’s getting out of bed, fighting back tears, or just learning how to breathe. Because of this I know I’m one tough cookie.

5.)Socializing. You would be surprised how hard it is to make friends in such a big city. It would be much easier if I had a specific job where I was surrounded by like-minded people my age but, unfortunately, that’s not the case for me. I JUST WANT MORE FRIENDS. Friends are everything and you can never have too many.

6.)Being so far away from home. I’ve done really well so far when it comes to being overwhelmed from missing my family back home. I have moments where I spend hours looking at old pictures of my nieces and nephews. I’ll replay videos of them over and over again just find some peace in this crazy ridiculous city of mine. I’ve made sure to call my mom AT LEAST once a day. I don’t even know what we talk about anymore but we love to hear each others voices. Living in NYC would be so much easier if I had my family here. The sacrifices we make to achieve our dreams and tackle our bucket lists.

Blogging is my safe place. My peace of mind lies behind this keyboard where I connect with the world with one touch of a button. My love for Fashion Blogging is within in the process: The photo-shoots, the editing, the writing, the networking. Every bit of it makes my heart happy. Regardless on the number of likes or the amount of views…This blog is has been one of the best things to have happened to me.

I love it and I love you.

Remember that.

I’ve Got A Crush

img_5443 img_5513 img_5482_fotor_collage img_5490 img_5435

I’ve got a crush, a crush on crushed velvet that is.

Sometimes it can be tough keeping up with trends, staying on top of what’s hot and what’s not but this crushed velvet trend won’t be too hard to find because it’s absolutely everywhere at the moment. This Fall 2016 trend is taking over and not leaving anytime soon. Heavy textures and rich colors will transform your closet this season. Go ahead and hop on this bandwagon because you won’t regret it.

My Vanity Fair Photo Shoot Story

img_50338 img_5025 img_50030 img_50337 img_5021

Hello.

There’s something about a sweet floral dress. This one is unbelievably affordable AND comfortable, priced under $35 and ready for your next girls night, date night and even wedding! I first saw this dress on my favorite Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristow (Not that I watch the Bachelor or anything) on one of her latest Instagram posts. She wore this darling off the shoulder number to her friends wedding and right then and there I knew I had to have it. I love it all: The colors, the breathable fabric, the cold shoulder detail. IT’S JUST GOOD.

Let’s chit chat about my Vanity Fair photo shoot for a second shall we? Yes, you read that correctly. Let’s start from the beginning. It was the very first day of fashion week, Wyatt and I were in Chelsea on his lunch break, just doing our own photo shoot for my blog, minding our own business when this guy comes up to us asking to take photos of me for Vanity Fair magazine! He never mentioned what edition it will be or when it will be published but I’m assuming it will featured on their Fashion Week Recap that will hopefully be out soon! Keep an eye out!

One moment your shopping for flowers in a beautiful body-con dress and the next your doing a photo shoot with Vanity Fair. That’s NYC for you.

With love,

Dumbo? Always.

IMG_4745 IMG_4729 IMG_46994 IMG_4714

It’s official. We have fallen in love with DUMBO, Brooklyn.

Dumbo stands for Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass.

Don’t worry, I learned that just yesterday. We’ve only graced Dumbo with our presence twice since moving to New York, however, it’s been one of our favorite spots. We love the atmosphere, food, and cobble stone streets. There’s a restaurant on Front Street called “Front Street Pizza” that has everything you could possibly want: Sandwiches, Pizza, Pasta, Soup, and Salads. Don’t let the actual restaurant itself or it’s aesthetic fool you…the food is BOMB and they give you a ton of it for the price.

About the look: You already know my love, more like obsession, with jumpsuits. I absolutely love the femininity of the floral design with a touch ruffle. It’s material is so soft and silky, it will leave you feeling comfortable and sexy all night long!

Knotted in NYC

IMG_4577 IMG_45582 IMG_4538 IMG_45588 IMG_4579

I’ve noticed a shift with my outfitting lately. It’s like subconsciously preparing myself for fall by reaching for my richer shades like this burnt orange jumpsuit here. I’ve completely fallen for this jumpsuit but I’ve definitely fallen for the price! It was just $25. This jumpsuit is perfect for NYC on the go. It’s a little bit too big for me right now so until I get it taken in to a tailor I’ve just been doing this little trick that I’ve done since I was a little girl: Tie a knot duh. I actually kind of prefer it with the knotted detail. It’s exactly what it needed.

Let’s talk hair:

Ugh. Hair. My never ending struggle. Thank God my mom is a hairstylist or else I would be a wreck. Since I haven’t seen my mom or gotten my hair cut in about two months, my hair has been in such a rough state. I’m ALMOST wishing it was a little longer so that it was easier to style but I’ve been managing by putting it in this chic and effortless pony. It’s really all my hair can handle in this humidity so… there’s that.
