Minimal + Comfy Spring Look

Hello sweet friends! I’m featuring this minimal outfit TWICE on my blog because its just that good and I didn’t mention these pieces enough in the previous post. I also figured I would accessorize slightly to bring the look together. I really cannot get enough of these jeans, flared to perfection at the bottom, paired with this off the shoulder knitted top. L O V E! I’ve really been loving minimal attire paired with nude colored accessories. I’ve just really been needing to feel simple yet beautiful and this outfit did exactly that. I also felt good and surprisingly confident about showing off my mom curves for the first time since delivering. I can thank these jeans for that. I really needed an extra boost of “DAMN GIRL.”

I mean, don’t we all?

Love you guys!

A Layering Game

Styling your wardrobe in a climate like New York City during winter time is nothing but a layering game. Sometimes there’s no choice left but throw on this and throw on that just so you can stay warm. I miss my southwestern winters because the dry weather made life a little more simple. Here in NYC the weather is consistently wet, windy and cold which just forces me to leave me behind my fashionista logic and instead grab my warmest leggings and pullover sweater along with my sociably forbidden UGG boots. That’s my life right now. On top of being pregnant and battling my morning sickness, the very last thing on my mind is looking cute for the world. I decided to photograph my outfit on the one occasion I decided to dress up and look like a girl. Go me. I was also hiding my little baby bump with this gorgeous swing dress. Warning: The dress runs ridiculously wide, so much so that I had to take it in significantly on sides. I would honestly go a size or two down.

S O H O – G I R L

The moment I laid my eyes on Soho, nearly 12 years ago, I knew I had instantly become a Soho girl. Out of everywhere in NYC, Soho still remains my favorite spot to be. The energy there is so contagious I find myself walking around, dipping in and out of shops for hours and hours on end. I personally find the architecture and cobble stone streets so enchanting. I’m most definitely one of those people that just stop in the middle of all the traffic and hustle and bustle to breathe everything in. It’s only until someone is honking at me that I step back into reality and move.

About the look: I’m loving my denim in this post. It’s a trusty brand that I’ve loved for a long time now called Pilcro, an Anthropologie exclusive. It’s one of the few denim brands that have petite options which is a life saver for me. Shout out to the petite girls out there. I gotcha back. Can we mention these VELVET BOOTIES though? Dead. I didn’t even hesitate for a second when I saw them online. That’s how I know they’re meant to be mine. I can’t wait to style these even more this winter.

Sweater Weather

I love to sport a sweater dress in this crisp sweater weather. I especially love this dusty shade of blue paired with my all time favorite white booties. Instant comfort for a city girl. Once I was all done running errands in this get up, I came home, put dinner in the crock pot, slid on my favorite leggings and typed up this blog post. Talk about an easy day-to-night outfit transition.

Keeping this blog post short and sweet. Hope you enjoy the photos and don’t forget to check out the links below to shop my outfit!

Talk soon.

A New York Outfit

I’ve had this post sitting here, in my “to do’s” forever now. I open the tab, stare at the blank page for a few minutes trying to gather my thoughts and form at least one sentence but nothing appears. I quickly click the exit button. This has been my life for the past couple of months. Nothing all that great to write about or talk about. I’m just kind of living one day at a time and that’s about it. I think my mind and body need a little bit of a break. If you’ve noticed I’ve taken a small step away from social media lately. It’s healthy to recharge. I’ll explain more in a future post on what’s been going on but I’m going to make a cup of hot cocoa and continue watching my Netflix show. (I’m currently loving Parenthood.) Also, Wyatt and Finley are fast asleep next to me on the couch and one of them farted. Y-A-Y.

Talk soon?
